Visiting son in Miami.
You get what you pay for. It was during Spring Break and it was noisy throughout the night with kids partying(paper-thin walls). The room and bathroom were old (40's old# and not very clean. TV didn't work well #1990's) and had just the very basic channels. The pool was a bonus, although the water was too cold to use it. In short, I'll look for another place for my next visit.

It works!
After reading other reviews of this hotel, my expectations were rather low. However, they were exceeded. This hotel is nothing special, but the location was perfect. It was close to the beach, Lincoln Road, and all of the the restaurants/bars that had been recommended to me. I realized that I didn't even need to rent a car because of the location. Plus, they were out of spaces at the hotel, so I had to park the car at a garage two blocks away. It wasn't too much of an inconvenience, though. I will definitely stay here again. It is great for a solo traveler on a budget that did not travel to stay in her hotel room all day (or night!).

South Beach on a budget
There are basically two kinds of hotels in South Beach; ones that are in their original 1930s condition, and those that have been completely gutted and modernized. There is also a huge difference in price. Haddon Hall is pretty much in its original 1930s condition. My room had a small kitchenette, and was quite comfortable, especially for the price. All of the staff I interacted with were friendly and very courteous. I would definitely stay there again.
