South Beach boutique hotel marries old and new Miami Beach
The hotel is located in a prime area of South Beach, between Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive. Jetsetters appreciate the Art Deco exterior details with contemporary interiors. The hotel has 90 rooms and black-and-white cabanas. A safari-themed lobby -- complete with African tribal masks -- welcomes guests into the intimate space. The hotel boasts a rooftop sundeck and hot tub and romantic, softly lit rooms.
Highlights
- Safari-themed boutique hotel with Art Deco exterior and modern decor
- Free shuttle service to and from Miami International Airport
- Private rooftop sundeck and hot tub
- Happy hour between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
- Scooter, bike and skateboard rentals
Rooms
Dramatic lighting -- think candles and chandeliers -- create a sense of sultriness in the 90-room property. Rooms have doubles or kings. The Chesterfield Rooms take inspiration from nature, incorporating colors like green, eggplant and mahogany into the walls and bedding. The Chesterfield Penthouse looks like a South Beach bachelor pad decked out with a white leather sofa, king bed and matching wall units. Each room has a T-1 Internet connection, mini bar, safe and Mascioni linens and robes.
Features
The hotel is ideally situated for visitors wanting to be close to the South Beach action. However, its appeal goes beyond location. The property embodies the chic boutique experience, with its lounge (called, what else: Safari Bar?) and residential-style suites at sister and next-door property The Lily-Leon.

Decided to do Miami instead of Punta Cana
Well first we were waiting forever at the airport for the shuttle to arrive. Called the hotel several times and didnt get an answer which was upsetting. When it finally did, there was no air!! However those things didnt bother me too much, after all I'm on vacation! Get to the hotel and there's a bit of a wait to check in. Again I'm on vacation. I didn't mind terribly. When I booked online I had the option that said double beds OR king sized bed. Since I was on vacation with my female cousin,OF COURSE WE WANTED DOUBLE BEDS! So when I requested double beds I was told that when you book thru a 3rd party i.e online then double beds are not guaranteed. There were rooms with double beds available they just wanted us to pay to "upgrade". 60 dollars per night. No thanks we will make it work. That was the most disappointing thing about the hotel. The elevator was tiny and scary I only used it to take my bags up and take them down when I left. Free happy hour from 7 to 8pm every day was excellent. Location was great literally a block from the beach. Had dinner on our last night. I only had a Greek salad with chicken but it was delicious. The breakfast the next day I did not enjoy. In spite of the one king bed I can say that I would stay here again. The bathroom was really little but the shower was nice. The water gets EXTREMELY HOT! We were here Memorial Day weekend and weren't ever offered nightclub passes that are supposed to be part of the resort fee. Bring your own beach towel unless you wanna rub your skin off.

Great location but never a quiet night.
A block from the beach, brand name shops lined outside the hotel, a block from public transpo, plenty of restaurants around the site, room had a zen like ambience with a jacuzzi but partying at the common area...terrace and garden... went on until dawn. Outside conversations can be overheared even with the AC on. Good for younger clientele. Not good for kids. Just mind your own business and dont expect too much from the staff. Must be passed out to get a good sleep. Peaceful at day, loud at night! A bang for your buck. I still would go back!

What the heck was that about?! please read
Went for my best friends birthday. The bus that picks u up from the airport lost her luggage on the highway. Thats right u read correctly. The staff was not informative at all. When we asked questions we were given attitude. Customer service was not there main goal. Save ur money and skip the sushi bar next door. It was very "food court sushi" The pros: good location. Most important keep ur rocords for what they charge u. I had weird charges on my card which Im disputing now. In the end if customer service is not important to u then hey why not. Others be warned.

South Beach Trip
The staff were very accompdating. The room was clean and comfirtable. I would suggest that the hotel provide a power strip or charging station in the rooms to allow for charging laptops and cell phones. All small coffee maker would be a nice touch as well. There were no easily accessible outlets except for the one in the bathroom. The rooms have a very nice sheek feel and are decorated nicely. I will definately stay at the Chesterfield again.

A writer's paradise
First and foremost, Francesca,Jose,Pedro, AND Marcial make this place run amazingly. I stayed in the junior suite for an unbeatable price and this is RIGHT SMACK DAB :) in the middle of the Miami Madness!!!! That's not the most favorable thing about this spot though. If you have the chance to visit get the suite. It looks like your walking into a janitor's closet lol...... But when the door opens you have flat screens, mirrors everywhere,of course, king sized bed, marble floors, and an above great bathroom. Can't beat it! UEONO.......

Hotel on S Beach
The location is very good, but no coffee maker in the room or public area was disappointing. The staff was not helpful for anything. The room is clean, but there were too much insects. We won't recommend it for others. Henry

Nightmare waste of time and money
The bed was dirty from the first second in the room. Bathroom sink was cracked. The toilet would not flush unless you held the handle down. The airport shuttle advertised did not exist. Cost me $100 more. Maids tried to talk down to us in spanish. We speak spanish. Closet was designed with your clothes hanging against shelves. Bamboo scratching against window all night. Free happy hour was a joke.

Very clean & Friendly service
Stood here for only one night because the next night was the start of the Food & Wine festival. The second night was too expensive. I wish it wasn't because the room was so cozy. Only bad part was at night it rained & there was a leak that dropped from the light. Good thing the leak was right above the jacuzzi. Other than that I would definitely recommend this hotel & would stay again. Hotel is in the middle of everything in South Beach! Wish I was still there but we will meet again very soon.
