Family-friendly hotel near South Beach with pools and breakfast buffet
All-inclusive travelers might know the name Riu from past vacations, but this Miami Beach property is different with bookings including room only. The 284-room hotel has direct beach access, an adult and children's swimming pools and a poolside bar and grill. An extensive breakfast buffet -- which includes on the spot cooking stations -- draws the regulars and guests can pay separately. South Beach's major attractions, from the Art Deco District to Lincoln Road Mall, are less than two miles away.

HOTEL LOBBY & ROOM WAS O K BUT WHEN YOU DROPPING OFF YOUR CAR OR GET YOUR CAR... YOU ARE OWN A TIMER IT IS SO NARROW YOU HAVE TO HURRY BECAUSE ANOTHER CAR OR VAN IS BEHIND AND I FELT RUSHED ALL THE TIME. FOR THE PRICE IS HAS NO GYM, NO MICROWAVE,NO INTERNET OR WIFI I HAVE STAYED AT CHEAPER HOTLELS THAT HAD ALL OR AT LEAST ONE OF THOSE WITH THAT PRICE. I HAD TWO ROOMS MY ROOM WITH OCEAN VIEW WAS NICE, THE OTHER ROOM VIEW WAS OF CONSTRUCTION OF HOTELS NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO LOOK AT ON VACATION EVERYDAY. :( SORRY): WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN I STAYED AT THE RIU IN BAHAMAS THIS CAN NOT EVEN COMPARE....

Good hotel and service. Pool extremelly busy. It was 150 young people during our visit to the hotel that spoil the stayed,very annoying.

I'd do it again
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was there for Art Basel Miami when the town was packed. (I know; when isn't it?) This hotel offered an oasis from the madness further south. It's pool area was okay but the staff was friendly and helpful. I generally had drinks at the hotel next door and came back here to retire, That said, the rooms were bright, clean and quiet, That is all I was looking for so...I'd do it again

worst room ever
the room was sprayed with air freshener so heavy it not only penetrated my clothes it penetrated plastic. No hot water when i called the front desk they new the problem without any solution. I paid $200 for one night stay it was the worst hotel room i ever had

Family retreat
Good hotel. Highlight was definitely pool area. Access to beach and board walk. Plenty of chairs and great outdoor bar and restaraunt.

RIU = Value close to south beach
Clean lobby area, reasonably clean rooms, loud A/C units in room. Nice pool, step onto beach from hotel. Nothing incredible, just average, but price was good. Attractions are walkable, but definitely not in the middle of the action in Miami.
