Luxury hotel where the Miami River meets the Biscayne Bay
The word epic certainly resonates with guests at this downtown Miami hotel. The building is a luminous exclamation point on the Miami skyline with striking, futuristic architecture and gorgeous marina. Guests can pull up in a yacht, and then dine alfresco at Area 31, an upscale restaurant known for its fresh local seafood and stunning vistas. The 411-room hotel invites more pampering at the Exhale Spa and the two outdoor swimming pools. Visitors flock to the pools nightly to sip refreshing cocktails and lounge in the private cabanas.
Transportation
Miami International Airport (10 miles)
Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (28 miles)

- Riverfront boutique hotel
- Only hotel with direct dockside access by the marina
- Exhale Spa onsite
- Two restaurants: Seafooder Area 31 Restaurant and Japanese eatery ZUMA

Rooms
High-style rooms capture city, bay and river views. Rich fabrics in ivory and beige lend understated elegance. Flatscreens and Wi-Fi are standard.
Features

Every night from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., guests enjoy a free wine reception in the lobby. The Exhale Spa -- a 12,000-square-foot oasis with 14 treatment rooms -- melts stress away with massages, facials, nail and waxing services. A glass-walled yoga studio reveals stunning views of the skyline.

AMAZING SERVICE
Exceptional service since I first got off the cab to check in all the way to check-out. Not only are the workers extremely friendly and helpful, it seems to be that another qualification to work there is to be good-looking. Great hotel for single people!

Probably preferable to rent a car while staying at this hotel since it got expensive to be taking a cab to South Beach every day.

Service Can Be Better
We chose Epic because it is absolutely gorgeous and was nearby all of the fun and attractions without being right in the middle of it. The room was stunning, the views were stunning as well. We stayed in a Water View King Bed room. The only thing that I had a problem with was that at the amount we paid for the room, continental breakfast should be included. At one point we had to switch rooms due to a leaky air conditioner, in which ... again.. something should have been done for the inconvenience... LIKE FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST! The pools were amazing and the staff was somewhat friendly. Area 31 Restaurant was amazing and the service was great. All in all the hotel is a bit snooty, but I guess it's expected from that caliber of hotel. I just wish they offered more for their snootiness.

Short walk from hotel
Bongos is a very touristy place during the day but at night it comes alive - make sure you know how to salsa. Go for drinks at about 10 p.m. to ensure you can stay for the dancing without paying a cover fee. Bring comfy shoes - the hotel is within walking distance so you can save $ getting there.

Lovely and relaxing
Super hotel couldnt fault it for service, style, rooms, atmosphere, welcome, attitude of staff, they just cant do enough for you. The only downside for us was no coffeeshop, where refreshments were available all day, only room service or restaurant. Would have liked tea or coffee at least available in room. Hotel did however provide complimentary to or coffee in lobby in morning. Complimentary internet in room big plus. Had a wonderful stay would recommend and would definitely stay again.

The MOST EPIC of all Vacations
The whole point of this trip was to completely get a way and wind down. I got a really good deal airfare and hotel price because it wasn't prime season in Miami. I really didn't care where I went as long as I was pampered, and the Epic hit the nail on the head. The staff is so kind and generous with helpful hints about the city (and even re application of sunscreen :) . The poolside service is amazing! The spa is a luxury I was not expecting, and room service is exceptional. My favorite features were small, but so nice like... the privacy/make up room button and doorbell. No, annoying knock to bug you for housekeeping. The ever available and knowledgeable concierges and how helpful they were, going above and beyond. Turn down service was nice as well. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. I will go back ASAP!

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
This is a medium walk, but the only disadvantage of staying at the Epic is being downtown, and paying cab fare. So, hitting the Bayside market/marina is a great quick trip with shopping and tour options.

Sweet Spa
Very friendly and helpful staff. My wife and I came down to Miami for a few days of relaxation. Spent a day on the beach and a day in the spa. Best deep tissue massage I've ever had.

Great place to stay
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I would definitely come back again. One should note that if you are bringing a car, there is a $32 parking valet fee per night which came to our surprise. The management did remove %50 of this fee from our bill without any problems. Excellent stay regardless.

Epic has the potential.......
We arrived for a 3 day stay late Thursday evening, (exhausted) went straight to bed, only to wake at 3am with no heat and the room temperature was 61 degrees. Miami was 44 degrees that night! Over the 3 day stay, we never ONCE received housekeeping services, She arrived on the last night of our stay at 10pm to clean and makeup our room... Needless to say, I told her to just give us fresh towels and forget about cleaning and changing the bedding. Service would have been off the charts, if we wouldn't have had the above issues... The hotel staff were wonderful people and very helpful. Even the housekeeping staff were nice. (just seemed like they were understaffed or non-prioritized). Maintenance did correct the A/C Heat issue the next day. The concierge service was GREAT! Front desk was wonderful too. Bar services, room service were excellent...

Luxery cost money... but could be worth
This is top of the notch hotel. Absoulte lavishness and luxery. However, if you're looking for a student-budget type of travel to this spot- forget about it. It is gorgeous and expensive. We ate outside for almost every meal. "Continental breakfast" was only coffee/juice/3 small pastaries. Otherwise EXCELLENT service and friendly.
