Great for Ultra Music Festival!
I got a room at this hotel with my girlfriend for Ultra Music Festival and it was awesome! Its about 2 blocks from Bayfront Park (where the festival happens). I'm sure this hotel would be great for any other events in downtown Miami as well. There is a bus station one street over that you can use to get around in downtown or to South Beach (for $2). There is a bridge to South Beach super close and we went multiple times, I'd say it is about a 10 minute bus ride. There is also a station for the elevated train very close to the hotel (about 2 blocks). The staff was very professional and the rooms were very clean. The pool is small and barebones, but its on their 7th floor rooftop which was kind of cool. I'm not sure I'd ever been on a rooftop pool before. The room was small and included a desk with one chair, but no other table to eat on. There was a flatscreen TV with basic cable (I think a 32"). The bed was nice and the sheets weren't overly starched like some hotels do. Overall it was a great experience, and I recommend it. Its not that much nicer than rooms I've payed a quarter of the price for, but when you consider the location it it worth it.

Short drive from hotel
Take the C bus to South Beach and get off on Washington and 7th. There is a great little Cuban place on 7th inbetween Washington and Ocean Drive called Puerto Something. The food was great, it had an authentic atmosphere and it was a lot cheaper than anywhere on Ocean Drive. Maybe a local could suggest somewhere better.

The staff at this hotel are some of the most helpful folks I've run into at any hotel. They offered great restaurant recommendations, great value-added services like finding me a place to scan a document on-site, and concern for my welfare as I traveled the Metromover on a daily basis.

Clean room & courteous staff
Clean room & courteous staff but definitely needs some renovations. The AC/heater was very noisy and had a strong burning odor.

Excellent location for thhe prices
Well located,close to everywhere. Biscayne Blvd., Miami beach, the Convention Center, etc. Very attentive personnel , from the lobby to the Bistro, including the maids.

Great location in downtown Miami
The location was great. It is walking distance to downtown shopping, the people mover train,museums and the Bayside experience. I received far more than I expected. The staff was great. The parking garage was reasonably priced. Considering the location, the cost of the hotel was awesome.

Unbelievable diamond in the ruff
Stayed one night,before sailing out the next day. I flew into Ft.Lauderdale and drove to Miami, it was easy to find right off the highway. It was close to the metro-mover and two blocks from stores and a two blocks from the piers. I was really impressed with the hotel and staff, very helpful. Will stay there the next time I go to Miami.

I'll plan on staying here again
My husband and I have stayed here before and enjoyed the hotel so much that when we need accomodations in the area, we decided to stay again at Courtyard by Marriott Miami Downtown. The hotel has all the emnities that we wanted and service was both prompt and helpful. The restraunt offered a nice selection at a resonable price. We like to cruise out of Miami and this hotel is such a good location, just minutes away.
