Boulan South Beach

This place is located in the upper end of the south beach, so you can get the taste of South beach while avoiding large crowd or traffic. Although not located right on the beach, it was just a block away and had no problem with accessing the beach. There was a nice Art museum and a small park across the road to make the area less crowd. What I most liked about this place is that rooms are equipped with kitchen and utensils so that our family didn't need to go out to restaurants for every meal. Given the generally high price in restaurants in Beach area, this was a huge money saving. Convenience stores were a couple blocks away, definitely walking distance. Wall decorations, paintings and furnishing in the room were not my type, but they are not something to say against about - just a personal taste. Great value. More worth that its price.

The Hotel was a home away from home. The room made you relax as soon as you walked through the door. The roof top pool, hot tub and roof deck had views to the ocean with lots of privacy. The Hotel dining was family friendly but the service was slow. The location was ideal. One block from the ocean with private beach shared with another oceanfront hotel( chairs, umbrella). Internet on site.

Only a few blocks from Lincoln Road, this is a great gem for my trips to Miami. Far more hotel now and less condo but you still get the homey feel.

Spacious rooms, recently refurbished. Great interior design. Could be a decent hotel if these rooms were cleaned regularly. Found trash left by previous guests. HVAC was working on and off. Overpriced.

What a great building and location. Just be aware that this is not a hotel. It is a condo building that rents its condos. No in building restaurant, bar, etc. Only small issue was the complimentary breakfast was not very good. Very limited quantities and selection. When they ran out of an item (packaged oatmeal, bread or milk) you were out of luck. Beyond this issue it was a fantastic location with a clean, roomy, higher end condo with a full kitchen, large bathroom, separated bedroom and living room. I would definitely stay here again.

The Boulan is a nice, swanky hotel.... great decor, comfortable, friendly staff. Location was ok, if you wanted to be away from all the noisy activity but walking distance to the action. I liked that its a condo building, because the rooms are set up like an apartment. Here's what I liked: --private, quiet, ultra trendy/swanky --friendly front desk --apartment set up --deluxe room very spacious --close to the beach (1 block away) --beach umbrellas & chairs included in the hotel price --no resort fees... $75 hold is refundable --$15 parking per day (hated that is was cash only) --bed was comfortable, full cable, on demand & ipod/computer connection... and FREE wi-fi that actually worked! Here's what I didn't quite like: --Front desk service requests not too prompt... drawback of condo vs hotel --While the rooms are swanky & ultra modern, needs to be dusted & wiped down regularly... ie mirrors, patio furniture, leather couch, table & countertops dirty/dusty. Because of the decor, its not visible when you first get there, but up close, doesn't look like its dusted regularly. I wiped it down alittle bit myself, so it wasn't a huge deal. --nit picking, but shower was beautiful and felt good... but nowhere to put your shower products, wash towel except on the ledge near the floor. --wish there was a restaurant on the premises... another drawback of a condo vs traditional hotel. --parking was cheap but it was cash only each time you moved your car. If you don't plan on moving your car too much, this is the best deal in South Beach. --wish the pool was open later in the evening. Personally, I like to lounge by the pool later in the evening or at night when its not too hot. --property was located near the corner... apparently, people urinate in the corner nook, that was a bit annoying also. Overall, I enjoyed it... but since its considered 4/5 star, thought it would be helpful to the hotel & visitors on what could be improved. I would definitely stay here again... hopefully some of the items I mentioned will be considered & improved.

My only complaints...no room service. There were no utensils in the room. No TV in the bedroom. Otherwise...wow!

The rooms are very nice and large. Our room was not very clean however. I booked a king room and got a queen, which they insisted was a king... The pool is nice but the hot tub was out of order and looked like it had been for a while. The staff is fairly sparce but they did make an effort to provide good service. I think they thave some good plans ( opening a restaurant etc) but its still really new and they are still figuring things out.

My visit to the Boulan in South Beach made my trip even better than I expected. The staff was helpful and attentive to our needs. We also loved the rooftop pool! It was private and clean and perfect for laying out and enjoying the sun. The rooms were immaculate and the building is central to any part in South Beach you need to go! I am always going to recommend this place to all of my friends heading down to Miami :-)

This place truly is one of the best deals in South Beach. Location is ideal, in the heart of everything, but the property itself is private, only for guests and residents which makes for a very relaxing stay. This is in comparison to every other hotel with large public lobbies with partiers at all hours of the night. The rooms were impeccable, and very spacious, with separate bedrooms, living room and kitchens. I haven't been anywhere else in South Beach since discovering this property, and I recommend others do the same.
