Overview
Disney's Swan Hotel is famed for its modern design and touch of elegance – the Florida hotel was designed by award-winning architect Michael Graves. Allow yourself to be transported to an island atmosphere – you can relax on the three-acre tropical landscape, complete with rock caves and cascading waterfalls, enjoy its white  beach, whirl pools and waterslide.

Take a break from the kids and send them to the fully supervised Camp Dolphin, leaving you time for pampering at the Balinese-themed Mandara Spa – choose from a variety of treatments or the full-service hair and nail salon. Alternatively you could sip a cocktail or sample a gourmet snack from the Cabana Bar and Beach Club where the music keeps the scene lively.

Need to get some all-important business done at the Walt Disney World Swan during your break? There are also conference facilities with 84 meeting rooms for catching up on work, or you can gather for an informal meeting within the numerous banquet rooms.

Neighborhood
Incorporating all the magical soul of Walt Disney World, the Swan Hotel is located within walking distance of theme parks like Epcot. It is also a short shuttle ride away from other Disney parks and the Downtown Disney area filled with entertainment, shopping and dining options. The Orlando International Airport is only a 20-minute drive away.

If nature's your thing make time to visit Disney's Animal Kingdom – you'll be able to see over 1,700 animals from 250 species, there's the opportunity to go on safari, or even see a Broadway-style play.

Hints and tips
The Swan Hotel is actually a Disney "sister" property. It is a Starwood Resort, but shares the same "Extra Magic Hours" given at other Disney-owned properties. To obtain a view of the nightly Epcot firework display, you should book an Epcot Fireworks View Room with balcony.

Ok hotel, no problems

The hotel is ok, typical of a 2-3 star hotel, but plenty of pools, activities, dining, etc. The rooms are just average, I would expect more for the price. It's just bed, tv, bathroom, nothing special

swan hotel

This is not a Disney Resort. It is managed by Westin. You pay $16 a day to park and you don't get the disney magic hours. Wifi does not work even know it's a mandatory charge.

great place

The Swan Reaort was a beautiful place. It is conveniently located extremely close to Disney's Epcot and Hollywood Studios that it was a joy to take the quick boat ride over to each. My only real complaint is that the wi-fi in the room didnt work unless you were right near the door and even then I couldn't get it on my ipad.

Disappointment from the start

We wanted an online checking and was told it was not available. No telephone checkin either. and was told I we had late check in at 11pm after cirque de soleil and check in took 45 minutes!!! The next morning we left our room to a stinking hallway from someone smoking in the hotel. When checking out we had ants one the dresser. Then I discover $700 with of incorrect charges by the hotel resulting in maxing my credit line on my rewards card!!! I will be doing everything I can to cancel my October stay at the Dolphin with no PENATLY!!!!!!!

Lovely place to stay.

If you love Epcot or Hollywood studios this is a great spot to stay! Close proximity for both of those parks. (Boats or walking!) But note that this is NOT a Disney owned property. You get most of the same perks and it IS on Disney territory, but you will have to pay for your own transportation to/from the airport. An airport shuttle will take you R/T for $36/person and depending on how many nights you stay or people you are taking, that $36 might be worth it to save $100+ a night. You do get shuttles and boats and monorail access. Magic Bands are NOT included at this resort either, but they can be purchased for $13/each. Use the ticket booth in the lobby to save your self time at the gate. Book using online for big discounts (I saved $300) and sign up for SPG rewards (earn free stays) ! Room service is fantastic and they keep Starbucks coffee and tea in the rooms. They seemed to have done away with the Bliss soaps that I used to love. The pool is fantastic! Walkable location to The Boardwalk if you like nightlife. They will clean and bring you two bottles of water a day but charge $20 to do so. Opt out if you don't want the hidden fee. Also a great view for fireworks from either Epcot or Hollywood studios depending on what side of the bldg you are on. Over all I love the Swan and Dolphin and will most likely stay at the Dolphin again next time I visit!

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

If you like night life or kid free this is a great hotel for you. Not as many families stay here and very close proximity to drink at Epcot all day and walk back. Or to hit the Boardwalk for Dance Hall or Jelly Rolls until 2am and walk back to your room.

Great location

We chose the swan because of its proximity to epcot and Hollywood studios. Both are within walking distance which makes traveling to the parks very convenient.

Careful with room package service charge

The location was very good commuting to Disney theme park. Hotel was very clean. However I was very surprised on my check out day as they charged room package service per day (about 20 per day). I asked what it is and they said it includes internet, two bottles of water, coffee, and phone calls (regardless your use/non-use phone calls). I think their communication was misleading on check-in day. Basically everything is not free. Restaurants are also very expensive there. Pack bottles of water and some snacks if you plan to check in bags because everything in Orlando is very very expensive.

Boardwalk area is very close to the Swan hotel. You can either walk or take a ferry going there for free. The Boardwalk area has bakery, restaurants, general store, etc and it is a good area to walk too.

This Swan Found the Perfect Place to Nest

My wife and I chose the Swan because you just can't beat the location. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and plants you right on Disney's Boardwalk where you can walk to the back entrance to Epcot. They also paved a nice winding path along the canal so you can WALK to Hollywood Studios. The convenience of being able to hit those two Disney parks on foot catapults the Swan (and the Dolphin# to the top choice for Disney vacationing in my book. The price is right to be so close to the attractions, and the hotel itself is fine. Not as pretty as the Dolphin #which has a beautiful vaulted lobby), but they share a nice pool area with a sandy beach/ volleyball section too. It's not technically a Disney property so it's missing a little of the Disney touch with the ambiance, but you can get that in the parks which again, are so close. Finally, I will wrap up with my complements to their IT guy. The wifi is fast. We were able to log on with just one landing page and it didn't slow down when I was on my laptop and my wife using her iPad. Plus, you don't have to keep signing on every time you get back to the room. They have it set up so it remembers your password and you're good to go. Hope this helps in your vacation planning.
