Short boat ride to Down Town Disney. Great food at Portabello's Italian food. Price fine, considering I live in Chicago.

The Good , the bad and the ugly
The lights over the sink would go on and off, the frig. would not cool water the first day, the TV remote stop working on the first day, left massage at front desk, never fix. Maid for two days did not leave any shampoo .

Riverside Needs Improvements
Do Not Recommend
People at the counter are rude and slow. I would not recommend this location at all. No business center facility, I mean we all have emergencies and well a computer room in compares to the acres Disney has would not hurt a bit.

Just tolerable
We were at the hotel for race weekend (1st weekend in jan). Check in was WAY too long. I did not have to wait in any lines but the agent checking us in was super slow. There were no greetings when you pulled into the porte cocher. I had to get out of my car and ask a bellman to direct me to check in. The agent CLEARLY saw that I had 2 children under the age of 3 and put us on the second floor (with no elevator) and a double stroller to carry up/down the stairs everytime we went somewhere. There was A LOT lacking in the service department. The pluses (only amenity related)...a fridge in the room, the food court, the convenient bus stop near our room for race morning and the boat to Downtown Disney. Just a note about the races...you can hear all the activity from the half marathon/marathon in the VERY early morning because of the proximity to Epcot. If you are not attending any races I might suggest chosing a hotel in another resort area (MK, AK, etc). I don't think I'd come here again.

Nick from OKC
Very noisy
We could hear the neighbors flushing their toilet all night long. It was hard to sleep several hours in a row ! The crib for our 9 months old arrived at 9:30pm ! hotel so big that you need to take your car to go to the cafeteria.... rooms were OK and the banquet bed is a plus. food was OK $200/night is not justified.

No elevator in some buildings
When I checked into the hotel, I notified the staff that I was traveling alone with my two young children and grandmother. I asked that he check the resort map to be sure that I had a room that would be easy for me to transport all the suitcases/sleeping kids. After driving to the other side of the resort, taking out my luggage, and walking circles around the building, I realized he had put us in the 2nd floor and there was no elevator! I did not have the energy to drive back to the crowded check in center, so I dragged the suitcases up myself. On the plus side, the manager did offer to switch my room the next day, but I had such limited time at WDW that I did not take them up on the offer. The hotel otherwise was very clean, beautiful and calm. My only other complaint was the dining area. We went at spring break, and it probably took us at least 45 minutes just to get our food. I wish that I had brought my own breakfast foods and kept them in the refrigerator.

A Family celebration
My son and I went to Disney to celebrate his 13th birthday and my graduation from college. We really enjoyed staying on a disney property and the perks that came with it. In 2008 we stayed at a non-disney hotel, and it was horrible. But this year the transportation to all the parks was great along with the extra hours at the park. And the free transportation to and from the airport was a fabulous added bonus. Most of the staff at the Port Orleans was friendly and helpful. The rooms were tolerable clean (but I am unbelievably picky about germs!) The campus is huge and you have to be prepared to do A LOT of walking to get to anywhere. It is a beautiful campus. For the cost it was a good stay and a nice hotel.
