Great for the most part

The hotel room was immaculate, housekeeping was very responsive to minor requests. The location was convenient with frequent transportation to the parks. The food court was small but had good variety. There was a store that sold bottled water, snacks etc that was expensive, but probably no more than any other place in Disney. My only complaint is that the staff did not seem very happy to see their guests and their demeanor was cold. No one smiled or seemed interested in whether their guests were happy. When checking out I was not asked how my stay was, which was surprising.

Dining tip: In Hotel

Apparently you can buy a refillable coffee mug for around $15 for unlimited refills during your stay which may be cheaper than paying $2.50 a cup otherwise depending on how much you drink and how long your stay is. The "salad your way" was a good bargain and very fresh.

Great Environment

The atmosphere was great and all the staff were very helpful. It was also very nice to take the water taxi to downtown Disney. My only complaint is the food on site. The food courts food was comparable to cafeteria food. I paid around $10 for a cheese steak that wasn't great. The bread was dry. The vending machine also charged $1.75 for a small bag of chips and 1.75 for a bottle of water. Everything was over priced, but that's Disney. No free internet, and no wifi available. Kind of disappointing that some fast food places have FREE wifi and this hotel doesn't.

Expected more from Disney

The room was ok, but I expected it to be nicer since it wasn't a value resort. There was a whole in the comforter and the refrigerator did not work. We brought this to their attention and maintence showed up at 11pm to fix it. We asked them to fix it the next day when we were at the park since it was so late, but it never did get fixed. I think next time we will pay for parking at the park and stay outside of Disney and save some money.

The hotel was great and the French theme was done very well. Our rooms were clean and well done. Last year we stayed at the Riverside which we also enjoyed but of the two we perfer the French Quarter.

Wonderful Disney hotel

Went to DisneyWorld to run the 1/2 marathon. The hotel was undergoing some renovations and we were in a newly completed room. The double beds are now queen size beds and the bath area had beautiful new tile. Two sinks in a nice feature and they have a fridge for you to put your items in for chilling. Would have liked a microwave; but not critical. There is a cable for highspeed internet connection; but no wi-fi. That was surprising.

Disney 2010

Our experience was wonderful. The Disney staff welcomed us as always and made us feel they were there just for us. The room was clean, with plenty of towels. Because we visted at holiday time it was nice to come back to the hotel with lemonade, cookies and snacks waiting for us. Something else we really enjoyed was the transportation to and from the parks. We'd do it again.

Not that great.

My [...]experience was great but the Hotel was not Disney Standards. I thought it was like a motel 6. The bed covers were worn and floors dirty and dated and the room had a bad smell. Luckily we only stayed one night.

Beautiful and Convenient

The grounds are beautiful. I loved the low country feel. The room was a good size for two people. We stayed in Building 7 which is the farthest from the food court but also very quiet and closest to Riverside so walking there is easier and probably quicker than the boat. We were lucky to get a lovely view of the grounds and the river. For peaceful ambience, this is my favorite Disney hotel so far. Just a modicum of the Disneyesque and it was nice to return to a peaceful space after all the hullabaloo of the parks. Buses were frequent and the boat to Downtown Disney was great. If you are looking for gourmet food at your hotel, this is NOT the place. The coffee was not good. Disney should upgrade its coffee!! Overall, it was very pleasant and I would definitely stay there again.

Dining tip: Not Applicable

Take the boat to Downtown Disney for the best selection of dining options. Of course, they are all expensive, some more than others. The boat ride is pleasant and a lot nicer than the bus. For dinner, it's quicker to go to DD on the boat than to other resorts.
