Wyndham Jacksonville Riverwalk

The sheets were soiled - yes, soiled. It wasn't as if the room wasn't ready - the cover was on and the bed was definitely made. However, when I took out the covers to get into bed, the sheets were soiled with a massive yellow stain. It was disgusting. The rooms are old and the bathrooms are older. The taps don't close and there's a leek. The walls are thin and you hear every bit of sound. The lobby needs updating. Don't go by the pictures you see on the website. Those must have been taken when the hotel was just constructed. It is pretty dilapidated now. The front desk staff are also not knowledgeable and if you talk to 3 of them, you will get 3 different answers. I had called the morning I was to check in to let them know my flight was delayed and to hold my room. The lady told me it wasn't a problem and everything was confirmed. However, when I got to the hotel, the room was already given to someone else who came in earlier. Then, they have signs when you drive in indicating it is valet parking only. So, I gave the keys to the valet and it cost $12 or something like that excluding tip. He told me to check in and come back outside to let him know the room number so he can write it down. After I checked in, the lady told me that she would have the car keys. I told her that the Valet told me he would have it. She said he would only have it if I did valet parking. I told her there are at least 6 signs outside that says valet is the only option. She said after 10, I could park it on my own and if I wanted the valet would bring the car back. So, I went outside and asked the valet if I could park on my own and save the $12, he of course said No - it is valet only and pointed to the signs. So, I asked him where I pick up the keys from in the morning and he told me to come back to him. So, I went back to the front desk and said looks like it is valet parking only and that I've left my keys with the valet. Then, she said she will have the keys in the morning as the valet will bring her all the keys when his shift ends at 5AM. So, the following morning, I go to the front desk and ofcourse they don't have the keys, the valet does. Anyway, There shouldn't be confusion about these things with the front desk staff. They should be knowledgeable. Besides, the soiled sheets pretty much ensures I will never stay at the Wyndham ever again and will ensure that none of my friends ever will either.

I chose it based on location, rate and reviews. All were accurate. The hotel is located in downtown Jax, which is easy to get around, minutes from all highways; The hotel is old, no question about it. It is now managed by the Wyndham and so the amenities are improving, the lobby is very nice, and the staff is great. You do have to pay to valet cars; no free parking. The room had upgraded bedding, and everything else is what you'd expect from and old hotel, good not great. We spent 4 days here, had breakfast in the lobby, which was expensive but nice, and visited all the local spots we went there for with no problems.

The perfect hotel for a business trip. Has valet parking only (comfortable). A nice bar and next to it restaurant. Location is very good for doing business in Jacksonville. Room spacy with complimentary internet. Liked it.

Room was ok. Smoke smell in a non-smoking room. Service was good

My friend and I were surprised by how nice the lobby was, however the rooms were very plain with poor lighting. The bathroom light needed to "warm up" to light the room at all and the bathroom was terribly small. The room was very clean with comfy linens, a value hotel for a quick stay.

Although it needed a lil upgrading my stay was very comfortable and the staff were very pleasant..Did not like the $12/nt valet parking price but overall great stay :-)

This hotel is not that great. The lobby looks nice. Everything else is not that nice. The room smelled moldy. There is a bar in the hotel that has loud music playing until 1AM. It sounded like we were at the bar in our room. If you are going there to sleep, just forget about it. We were also told that at the rate we paid we couldn't have the continental breakfast. Also, you must either pay $12 plus tips for valet parking or $10 to self park. Also the lady at the front desk was rude when I asked her about self parking.

The location is good, across the water from the arenas and nightlife.It is a long walk to many bars, restaurants and shopping but a short drive. The water taxi is a great bargain and freindly. Was charged $10 for parking my own car that I wasn't told about and the staff at the bar was extremely unfreindly and not experienced or really didn't care! So bad that we complained to front desk because there was not a manager available. I was told they would contact me but never did. We were apprehensive about eating at restaurant after bar experience.An old hotel with slow draining showers.

Solid 3 star hotel. The people I met from front desk, to bar/restaurant, to car hops were exceptionally nice and professional. This carried over to the guests, who seemed happy and well cared for. Food was surprisingly good.

The staff were great, the amenities were nice but the room I was in was dull and tired. The carpet looked dirty and the room furniture was bland, the bathroom was run down and small. I noticed a hole in the ceiling above the shower and a tile was not tilted from the wall below the water valve so you can see a hole into the wall. The toilet did not flush right either. Overall the room was not good. I was surprised. Good thing my wife was not with me, we would have moved to another hotel.
