Convenient and close

The hotel is showing it's age. While the location to downtown is great, it lacks the elegance of hotels across the river; and this is well-reflected in the price. For short business trips, it is fine, but needs some polishing.

Hotel left a lot to be desired,Staff was great, however, that being said. The pool had no lounge chairs, They charge you for parking, there is no breakfast, they even charge you for coffee at lobby level. For the price, not worth it.

Getting run down

The hotel is in a very good location in Downtown JAX, on the Riverwalk. It is obvious that the owners have minimized maintenance expenditures. It took 15 minutes of running water in the tub to get hot water for a shower (5 days in a row).

Very poor choice

Our first room was filthy. Internet was extremely slow many time outs, unable to connect etc. Breakfast food usually was empty, wait for food, hot food at room temperature at best. Sternos were allowed to go out. Sternos were relit but no fresh hot food replaced cold food. Charge $10 per day parking in a very unhandy parking lot. No side or rear entries. Health department would have closed the hotel and restaurant if they had called because of uncleanliness and very poor food management. Employees were very nice and helpful in spite of what they had to work with, but were often helpless to remedy a situation. Avoid this place for lodging

anniversary get away

The only clean part of the hotel was the lobby, we had to pay 27 dollars for breakfast and it wasn't even good, 10 dollars for parking a day. we stayed on the third floor, the carpet in the hallway was dirty, the bathroom was so dirty, there was a hole by the faucet, we had to change room, this hotel was not very clean and we wouldn't stay there again.

Not recommended

The staff was great! And the location was nice, but other than that, this hotel was one bad thing after another. Our first room smelled terribly of cigarette smoke, so they changed us. The next room smelt better, but the bathroom smelled like throw up. The coffee maker didn't work, and it took them one day to exchange it. The vending machines were out of water and took my money. The breakfast was way too pricey. (At most hotels it's complimentary) Overall I feel I would've definitely paid $20 more per night to get a much nicer quality.

Not good for the price

I chose this hotel because of it's location near downtown and Everbank Field, and it seemed to have decent reviews. Plan on spending $12 a day for valet parking. You can self-park if you want, but that still costs $10 per night. When I arrived the room smelled musty, the bathroom light didn't work, the TV remote didn't have any batteries, and my view from the window was of a yellow stucco wall and some cigarette butts. Definitely not the view shown on this website. In addition, the closet was poorly set-up making its usability limited. You should also know that rooms do not have flat screen TVs, a refrigerator, or a microwave like many other hotels at this price point. On the positive side: the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The hotels location was also very convenient to the downtown river walk area, and Everbank Field. There were several good dining options within walking distance. I ended up paying $125 dollars a night to stay here. The lobby of the hotel was fine and the staff was excellent; however, I've had nicer rooms at hotels that charge half the price. It's not a horrible option if you are booking late, but there are a lot of other hotels in the immediate area and this one definitely wouldn't be my first choice. I have personally stayed at the Hyatt across the river, and it was a MUCH better experience.
