couple getaway
We decided on a last minute getaway. The room had its flaws such as stains in the tub, dated a/c unit, and uncomfortable chair, but overall all, it was decent. If I stay again, I'll be sure to bring cleaning items, just in case.

There is a restaurant called BJs that was awesome. They have their own beer (because it is a brewery) and the food is delicious! Great value too.

Nice enough
Started off horribly. My GPS kept putting me in a seedy area of Jax. I called and desk clerk had no idea or no directions to give me. It's the Atlantic Ave Exit off 295 but I was on 95. 90 minutes later, with directions from PD, I made it. Room was clean, breakfast standard fare. Can't walk anywhere except for Denny's. 10 minutes from Atlantic Beach. Would stay again.

Overnight stay
Lighted hotel sign aided in locating the hotel which was on a side road near the freeway. Arrived about 9 p.m. Hotel staff pleasant and efficient. Breakfast adequate, better than we had expected from other reviews; person working the breakfast was pleasant and conscientious. Room and beds were comfortable, clean.

NICE STAFF
The personnel were very competent. The breakfast was only average. We did appreciate the cleanliness and once we found it, the proximity to I-95. For the price, it was a very good deal.

Senior road trip
Good overnight stop
This was a good place to stop for an overnight stay on our trip. Very reasonable room rate for a queen suite. The place was very clean, nice breakfast and excellent staff.Only drawback was that there were no restaurants for dinner nearby. FYI, this is now a Holiday Inn Express.

Good for the price
This hotel was purchased by Holiday Inn and is now called Holiday Inn Express. I only stayed at this hotel one night. I was in town for an exam, so I needed a quiet and reasonably priced hotel. This hotel met my exoectations. I needed to check out slightly late and the front desk lady was quite helpful. For one person, the room was a good size. My only complaint is that the room was quite muggy and humid. Even the carpet felt slightly damp. Sitting in a room that has the feeling of wet air is not very comfortable. However, I was in the room for most of the day after check-in as I needed to study. I'm sure this would not be a problem for people who only plan on being in their rooms for brief periods of time. Overall good for the price.

Very Nice
My experience was great. At first they had me in a room right near the lobby, but I asked for a room change and that was no prob. They were currently changing there name from St Johns suites to Holiday Inn Express. The batteries to the TV remote were dead. Besides it was perfect.

Changing ownership
We learned upon checking in that the St.John's Suites had been sold to Holiday Inn Express and the takeover would be in two weeks. The problems can with the "hot" breakfast being biscuits and gravy - every day until the changeover to Holiday Inn!! I don't think anyone should EVER east biscuits and gravy! The entire breakfast was the reason a majority of Americans are overweight. The other problem was with the internet connection. Taking online college classes, it was imperative that I have internet access. It was spotty! Nice staff, but very disappointed with management.

St. Johns
For the money ,, this is a nice clean middle of the line motel/hotel . If your like me and want a clean place to sleep and shower then this would be a great place to stay . They have a pool, nice rooms. and a continental breakfast in the morning . Staff was nice and informed . Would stay there again . The Robersons 05/16/2012
