Charming and peaceful atmosphere

My husband and I and our daughter stayed in a second floor Starkey studio. It was very spacious with ample natural lighting. The kitchen was very useful since we had brought groceries. We spent a lot of time at the beach and at the pool. The location was very convenient; close to shops, bike trails, etc. Next time we will bring our own bikes since the rentals were a bit expensive. We loved our stay at the Island Inn, the staff was friendly and the hotel was just charming!

Great location at a great price

Our room was large, clean and fully stocked. When we first checked in I noticed a smell coming from the air conditioner so I called the front desk. Someone came to our room within 5 min. and took care of the problem. We wanted a relaxing weekend and that's what we got. When you walk outside you hear the sound of the surf and the birds. I would definately go back.

Everything it promised, except breakfast

Island Inn is indeed historic, beautifully situated, and delivers on its promise of quiet, peaceful visit. However, as I recall, it is also advertised as a B&B. In the off-season, it's just a B (beds)with coffee and tea and donuts or rolls. Loved the screened in porch and ocean view. Loved the beach, and the management and service is excellent. Didn't try the Traditions restaurant ($$$) but with a car, you can go to lot's of interesting places to eat.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Kayaking in the refuge canoe trail was a wonderful break from walking the beach and looking for shells! Sunset is the best time to do the latter, early morning for the kayaking in Tarpon Bay.
