The room smell bad, the walls were dirty, the TV was too old. We didn't stay and drove to Miami instead.

Needs SeriousUpdating
Located across from beach is the only asset this hotel affords a guest. The staff were very helpful, but the rooms and building need extensive work. One room we looked at had a broken slider (unable to lock) to a balcony; one had a broken AC unit. This was later fixed, but one night was enough. Part of hotel still looked like spring break was still on; carpets stained, odors and not well lit. Unfortunate that hotel has perfect location but needs serious work to make it more habitable.

Made the same mistake twice
We booked this hotel for 1 night before our cruise and for 3 nights after. After the first night, we were so disgusted, we never went back. If the price is too good to be true, there is a reason. We feared for our security, worried about bed bugs and other filth in the room and slept on an uncomfortable bed. They charge you a 2$ safe fee, even if you don't use it (what is up with that?) The desk clerks are rude; what else can I say? Will; never EVER stay here again. Please just keep my money for the second stay, even though I didn't stay (it was too late to cancel because they have a 2 week cancellation policy and we didn't know how horrific it would be until we stayed there.) Luckily, we have friends in the area who rescued us from here. We couldn't get out soon enough. You obviously need the money. I hope you put it into bulldozing that property to make way for a new one that uses that beautiful view and combines it with a beautiful, clean, secure, friendly hotel. We are frequent world travelers and have stayed in many wonderful, yet inexpensive hotels both here and abroad. This one is only inexpensive.

Time-saving tip:
In Hotel
Save your time and money, your belongings and maybe your life. Even at 50$ a night, the Sea Club is overpriced. It looks like the kind of place that rents by the hour. You couldn't PAY me enough to stay here again.

Very nice place
Error at check-in - the room to which they originally assigned me had not been made up (& was an incredible mess!) - front desk person was most apologetic & sent someone up immediately with keys to another room, much upgraded from the first. Really nice people & a perfct location on the beach in Ft Laud.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed at.
It was the dirtiest nastiest hotel that I've ever been to. Everything was worn out and ill maintained. The sink faucet wasn't even attached to the sink. I question whether the beds were clean. The bathroom was nasty and didn't have a vent. We had a third floor room, which makes you wonder how all of the water damage occurred to the bottom of the doors and walls. Imagine a hotel like you would expect to find in the shadiest of areas, and that is what this is. If I could rate zero stars, I would.

Don't do it
I stayed 3 days at this hotel, but was scheduled for 4. I left early due to a very nasty manager. There was also one waiter at the restaurant who totally ignored my son when he was trying to order. The odd thing is, 85% of the rest of the staff was phenomenal, friendly and bent over backwards for my family, most of the restaurant staff was wonderful, it was just one bad one and the rest of the staff, maintenance and other front desk staff was great, but the manager is very rude. The food at the restaurant was good and the female staff at the restaurant was SUPER, the location is great but the hotel overall is run down and the elevator is a death trap, the location is what sells people and the price, but if you get the one bad waiter or interact with the nasty female manager, that ruins all the good points about the hotel....the Avalon down the street is better.

Uncomfortable
First impression was that the place was very old. Not to clean, I found hair in the sheets and the carpet had lots of stains. Smelled really bad so I opened the sliding glass door and put some inscence to make it smell better. Felt a little spooked in the atmosphere but over came the feeling after a couple of drinks. The hotel is in a great spot and has the ability to be beautiful if the owner would remodel it.

Really bad experience!!!!
I've traveled all over the world and not sure I've stayed at an aesthetically less pleasing of a property than this one. The staff was nice (can't blame them!) and the location across from Ft. Lauderdale Beach was terrific, however the hallways were the dirtiest I've ever seen, the outside doors were not locked and the rooms needed some basic renovating 20 years ago therefore basic maintenance or upgrading has not been at the forefront of ownership objectives. Probably ok for college males who would care less where they sleep on Spring Break, but scary for a family experience!
