Inside, visitors lap in the luxury of elegant rooms, dine at multiple restaurants or get pampered at the spa. A three-pool oasis finishes off the resort feel.

Rooms

Hyatt Regency Pier 66 Resort Spa and Marina guests have a number of rooms from which to choose with varying views of the marina or gardens. Traditional wood furniture lends comfort and casual appeal, while modern conveniences like flat-screen televisions and high-speed Internet access allow visitors to stay connected. Standard amenities include Portico bath products, a work desk and queen or king beds covered by fluffy down comforters and pillow-top mattresses. Guests with allergies can also request hypoallergenic rooms that have been thoroughly sterilized for irritants.

Dining

A bounty of restaurants abounds at Hyatt Regency Pier 66 Resort Spa and Marina. Among the favorites: Grille 66 & Bar, a prime steakhouse and Pelican Landing (located in Pier 66), which dishes up Citrus Ceviche with a side of Intracoastal Waterway views. For fruity drinks and light bites by the three-pool oasis, sunbathers order from Orchids Pool Bar.

Recreation

A 127-slip marina beckons guests to park their yachts, enjoy dining aboard their vessels via the room service from the hotel or take leisurely cruises along the Intracoastal Waterway. A full-time staff and 24-hour security team provides that extra TLC. Club Nautico also manages an Aquatic Center where Hyatt Regency Pier 66 Resort Spa and Marina guests can rent boats, kayaks, scuba gear, parasailing equipment and more. Back at the hotel, pamper from head-to-toe at Spa 66, which offers a full menu of hair, nail, facial and massage services. A true oasis, the spa sets the scene for serenity thanks to a 40-person hydrotherapy pool and lush gardens next to the entrance.

Not as expected

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times and know what we are getting, therefore we are not expecting the Ritz, but expecting more than the Marriott. The pool and hot tub were in horrible shape. Debris was in the pool for the two days we stayed and the water was not a clean clear blue. The grill closed at 6 pm on a Saturday and no food was offered. The housekeeping staff came to my door at 9 am knocking and tried to enter. She stated, that she believed we had checked out. I told her no we have until 12 pm to checkout. She returned at 11:45 and asked the same question. It can not be that hard for the hotel to produce a list of rooms where the guests have actually checked out at the front desk and have not. This housekeeper was harassing and left me very annoyed. The BIGGEST issue was the AC unit. I did not sleep at all. Every couple minutes the unit would come on and rattled like a part was loose. It was unbearable. When I mentioned this to the front desk, the said thank you for the information, we will look into it. Pier 66 Restaurant was the highlight of our stay and this restaurant is not affiliated with the hotel. The restaurant made that VERY clear during our dining experience. The atmosphere and food were excellent. We will not be going back. Sometimes spending $50 bucks more makes a huge difference. I believe this is one of those times.

My stay

This is the third visit in one month that I've stayed there and each time was worse than the last. My first visit was really very enjoyable that's why I stayed a second. The second time we were put on the side where the construction is going on and I asked if we could move but was told there were no other rooms at that price! I wasn't sure what that meant but accepted the answer and tried to enjoy myself. As I was returning to Ft lauderdale I decided to give the it another chance because the first time was so good. The third which is the one I booked a package and I'm not quite sure if that had something to do with it was the worse. I called to let the desk agent know I would be arriving late in the afternoon and was told that wasn't a problem. I arrived after a stressful day and called about pool towels because I wanted to go to the jacuzzi. I was told the pool towel station was closed and I could take one of my room towels. However the jacuzzi was blocked off and I was bothered that the desk agent didn't tell me that when I checked in as we had a conversation about me wanting to soak for awhile. I went back to soak in a hot bath and found I had no wash cloths and called to have some brought to the room. A guy came with bath towels and still no wash cloths. I asked him for some and he seemed disturbed that I was bothering him. It may have been because it was after 7pm but once again he returned without wash cloths. I decided to use a small hand towel and call it a night. The next morning I called downstairs to inquire what was happening with the jacuzzi and a female agent told me there was nothing wrong with it. I once again headed to the jacuzzi. Lo and behold it was still roped off. I called back downstairs and asked if it would be off limits all day and she said she didn't know. I asked her if she could find out because I wanted to use it before heading out for the day and she put me on hold. Believe it or not she didn't pick the phone back up for quite awhile. I hung up and called back and she then tells me the director is in a meeting and she can't find anyone to ask. I suggested I hang up and she call me when she gets an answer. Finally she calls and tells me maintenance is going to work on it soon but she doesn't know if it will be fixed. Also the floor along the wall was soaking wet. I'm not sure if it was a prior problem or the ac but it was frustrating. Now I know these are not major issues but little issues are just as upsetting when not handled properly. I'm not sure I will try it again. I love the area but there are so many options on that street.

perfect stay

This hotel is great. From the time you walk in and the time you check out you are treated like family.greAt staff makes the stay a one of a kind. This place has an awesome resort/paradise feel.good food, good drinks, great views. I loved the fresh lemon infused water around the hotel, very refreshing. The one thing I did not like was the restaurant outside and games and staff along with the fresh lemon infused water seem to disappear at 7pm.

Pay extra for a different hotel

First day there the pool bar was closed so we went inside for food. ( after sitting there for 20 mins my boyfriend went up to the bar and said can we get service we were told the kitchen is broken) There was a hair in my napkin then a hair in my overpriced chicken sandwich. The hotel is super run down, you will share a balcony with your neighbor. I paid extra for a balcony and the divider between my balcony and the room next door is a white fence that goes up to your knees. Didn't even use since there was no privacy. Would never stay again. Pay extra for a better place way worth it. All that being said, the staff are the nicest people and were great.

Nice property but terribly run

We booked this hotel as a post cruise layover for an early flight the next morning. We arrived from the cruise around 11am with a 4pm check in time. Knowing we were early we waited in line to see if there were any rooms available. The front desk told us our room wasn't ready and they took our phone number promising to call as soon as a room was available. We were able to store our luggage and grabbed lunch outside while we waited. Around 2:30pm we thought we'd try again on our room since there wasn't much we could enjoy on the hotel property without having our luggage or a room to change into bathing suits. The front desk still said the room wasn't available and wasn't sure when it would be but again promised to call as soon as it was. At 4:15 which was now after check in time we still hadn't received a phone call but assumed we would have a room. Waiting in another line (the front desk was very slow) we tried to check in and yet again were told the room wasn't ready. I asked when it would be ready because it was now after 4pm and he could not give us an answer except saying they would call. So we decided to just wait in the lobby hoping it would be soon. As we waited I saw the front desk staff keep leaving customers to go into the back room when there were lines of guests waiting. They seemed to be preoccupied with other things and wouldn't even look up at people in line. The service was very slow and did not seem efficient. SInce we were waiting so long I was able to watch this first hand for hours. If we hadn't' prepaid for our room we would have left at this point. At 6pm now with less than 12 hours before we had to check out we went back in line to check the status of our room. It was finally ready but we received no phone call and they couldn't answer when we asked why we were not called. Finally having a room we went up to our room to find out that the keys weren't working and had to go back down again to wait in line for them to reprogram the keys. The only redeeming quality and the reason I did give 3 stars is that our room was very nice and the view was great. The hotel in itself is very nice, but they are def in need of new management or better service at the front desk. Waiting 7 hours for our room is unacceptable. We should not have had to wait an additional 2 hours after check in and not receive any apology or information as to why our room wasn't ready. As nice as the property was we had no time to enjoy it and I would not come back here after this experience.
