The majesty of marina living, from yacht dining to a lagoon-style pool

Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina guests love being surrounded by water at this Intracoastal Waterway front hotel, boasting views of neighboring 33-slip marina. The property captures contemporary style, favoring mod furniture, a well-edited collection of art and an Asian small plates restaurant fit for a romantic rendezvous. For added allure, guests can have private meals on their yacht or enjoy Evian spritzing by the pool to cool down.

Highlights
  • Contemporary rooms with views of the Intracoastal Waterway and marina
  • Asian small plates restaurant and outdoor bar
  • 33-slip marina
  • Elements deck and pool with poolside ambassadors
  • 24-hour fitness center with Life Fitness equipment
Rooms

Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina rooms capture contemporary sophistication with sleek furniture and a neutral palette. Floor-to-ceiling windows and furnished balconies exploit the hotel's best asset: views of the marina, 17th Street Causeway, Port Everglades or Intracoastal Waterway. Stylish design elements reign, including mosaic-tiled bathrooms and plush bedding and tech comforts like iHome stations and high-speed Internet access.

Dining

Where guests choose to dine, the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina accentuates the ambiance. The G pours on the South Florida romance, thanks to a position next to the 33-slip marina, the perfect spot to grab tropical cocktails, sliders and seared Ahi tuna salad. China Grill Fort Lauderdale oozes sex appeal, dishing up Asian small plates under enormous wood beams, track lighting and the stars--the restaurant also boasts a patio for admiring the Intracoastal Waterway.

For on-the-go bites, hit Antea, which serves specialty coffees, teas and baked goods for breakfast and salads and sandwiches during lunch. When private dining is in order, the hotel can cater meals on yachts or in rooms.

Recreation

A 24-hour fitness center houses Life Fitness treadmills and weight machines, while a heated outdoor pool stuns with a free-form shape and gorgeous palm tree landscaping. Poolside ambassadors are at the ready when guests feel the need for a spritz of Evian water or a eucalyptus towel. The G restaurant can also concoct that perfect poolside cocktail.

Eh, it wouldn't be my first or last choice again

It was extremely difficult to find and my GPS kept directing me to a building across the street and down the street. The good thing about it was that it was in close proximity to a pharmacy, and really good dining selections. My husband and I stayed here because we had a 12+ hour layover in Ft. Lauderdale. The staff that checked us in seemed disinterested. The doors looked like they were in need of some fresh paint. They had one of those rain showers that looked like it was supposed to be stainless steel, but it was rusty and I was just glad that we chose the hotel to crash for a few hours. The price was decent but I would have wanted to pay less given the accomodations. Wouldn't stay again or recommend it to a friend.

Not my best

When I arrived I was given a room that was dirty. The staff apologized and I was given one of their best rooms. The room was very nice. The staff from that point on was great. It just doesn't make me want to return.

Fair to Poor experience

This hotel is hidden behind the Art Institute and the entrance from SW 17th is neither marked nor obvious. I had to call the hotel to seek directions and the front desk did not answer for more than 3 minutes. By that time, I had crossed the causeway and started back, but her directions were not helpful. I checked in and was assigned the farthest room from the front desk, in another building. I was told that this was all my discount rate would justify, even though I am an upper-level HHonors member. Then, I asked about breakfast hours and was told that there were only "grab and go" bags available in the lobby. When I got to my room, I called for room service and was told that it was closed. I thanked the operator and hung up and she immediately rang my room back and told me that if I hung up on her again, she'd "send security" to my room. I tried to call back and find out what her issue was, but the operator would not answer the telephone at that point. This is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had in a Hilton property and, for that matter, in any name hotel property. I am certain that I would not be staying there again, even though it is in a location convenient to me.

The Southport Raw Bar is located about half a mile from this hotel and offers the best conch chowder and clam chowder in the State of Florida, along with a full complement of fresh seafood and shellfish.

Weekend trip

Room was clean, spacious, and contemporary. The attached Chinese restaurant seemed a bit pricey, so we ate at the hotel bar area- it was surprisingly good. Also, great location on the marina.

nice hotel in a lovely location

We found the hotel to be nice and comfortable. It was a little expensive for the hire of films and internet use. Otherwise it was a good experience and we would definitely use the hotel again.

Quick overnight stay on Business

We stayed overnight at this hotel on Sunday March 10, 2013, on a business trip. The price was $178.02. Parking and internet are extra. Although, we didn't have much time at the property, I can say that the hotel was clean and has modern decor. The shower has a nice feature for tall people in that you can make the shower spray from the shower ceiling like rain. On this trip we were in the tower on the side with a view of the bridge, nothing special. But on a previous stay, we were in the tower with the water view which is very nice and provides some entertainment in watching the various boats and yachts. The location is right next to the bridge over the intercoastal, not far from the beach or downtown. My only negative comment is that the the hotel would not provide us with a copy of the bill after we accidentally left ours behind because we booked through a sight online. I find this policy ridiculous and inconvenient as I try to submit my expenses for work.

Great Pre-cruise Hotel

This hotel is very close to the airport and cruise terminal. A $6 shuttle to the cruise terminal beats every other choice. In room coffee is Keurig single serve which we use at home.We found a great Italian restaurant 2 blocks away called Bravo. Will definately stay there again.
