Extended Stay Deluxe Fort Lauderdale - Cypress Creek - NW 6th Way

This trip was great. It was pleasant and clean. The staff was great and attentive.

The staff were really friendly and helpful but I just wasn't impressed with the condition of the rooms. I checked into two "non smoking" rooms that each still smelled like cigarettes. No shower caps or ice machine available to guests.

The so-called breakfast was a joke. Granola bar, stale muffin. instant oatmeal, but NO MILK. Coffee was good. The room was OK, seemed clean, out of a 9 day stay, maid service was only ONCE. Not enough. The bed was HARD AS A ROCK...pretty uncomfortable. Some of the staff were friendly, others weren't. Most nights the hotel was quiet...but twice, the night staff person let their screaming 5 yr old run up and dawn the halls SCREAMING at the top of his lungs and her YELLING after him at 11 pm and 3 AM!!

Quiet, well lit hallways and comfortable rooms with kitchenettes. Exercise equipment could be updated but the 3 machines I tried all were functinal. Very helpful staff. Only a third mile from a favorite restaurant, Sweet Tomatoes. Good coffee and fruit, but rest of breakfast was packaged, e.g. granola bars.

I waited in the lobby to check in for 45 minutes before being checked in. Although there was a clerk on the phone - the first acknowledgement came 35 minutes into the wait. There was a smoker in the lobby of this non-smoking establishment - eventually, the man was persuaded to go outside. Once checked in, I went to the room. The room smelled like fresh cigar smoke. It was the worst smelling hotel I have ever been in. I immediately went down to the front desk to tell them the room is unacceptable. He apologized and stated that this was a non-smoking hotel. The hotel was also overbooked, but offered an upgrade for one night, noting that all the rooms has a residual smoke smell to them. We opted to find another place.

The staff was so helpful! We had just left the worst beach-front motel I have ever been to, and the staff here saved the day! They stored our luggage, gave us a 20% off coupon for a great little 50's diner down the street, and then had our room ready a bit early. The room was so comfortable and very clean. The kitchen was perfect and if we had needed to stay here longer it would have been so handy. The guest laundry was great too, since we had just come from the beach and a dirty motel we wanted to wash all the clothing that had touched it. It is located in a business district, so it would be great for those traveling for work. We didn't rent a car, so the cab rides to/from here was pricey. There are a number of restaurants about a mile or two away. We walked, but it was a hike. I'm not sure where a store is (if you wanted to stock the kitchen). You should rent a car if you stay here.

My stay was everything I wanted. I was comfortable, the price was right and the location Ideal. I did not use the Buffet Breakfast as I had a refrigerator, a stove and a Walmart and Walgreen a few minutes away. Of course I could have called and ordered lunch as a menu was provided. I preferred to either eat out or prepare my special diet. It was easy to get to 95 or 595 or the Turnpike so in a few minutes I was on my way to wherever I wanted to go. I had a good time and I shall return!

The hotel was good, clean and conftable room! Good! But there no easy transportation on the area, and the hotel staff don't know to give directions to restaurants and amenities closer to the hotel.
