good value
hotel room was clean and pleasant. one problem it is close to the train tracks and they ran all night it seemed. it was right off 95 so easy to get back to the airport or head to south beach.

Starting of our cruise
It needs something, the rooms were OK, the service too. The only good thing was the shuttle. The Pop machines did not work on our floor so we had to scrounge to the other floors. The elevator was so slow and it was in a noisey area (train tracks).

Get What You Pay For
I am fortunate to travel often and the minute I walked into my room my thought was that I should have stayed somewhere else. Check-in was impersonal and a bit lengthy and annoying. Once in the room, immediately noticed that my TV had poor reception (at three or four points over two and a half days, it just stopped, or that channel's screen was taken over by intereference). While hotel location is right on I-95 and quite near several things in Fort Lauderdale that I planned to do, the alarming sounds of the train station nearby seemed to come at inopportune times. Bed was fairly comfortable and there are some amenities, but I wouldn't want to use the pool or the exercise room. Make no mistake - this is a budget property, very dated, with a fairly chaotic feel in the leasing office. Feels like the kind of place where someone might try to break in on you.

Galanga - fantastic Thai in Wilton Manors, great for early dinner. For brunch or breakfast, check out Rosie's in Wilton Manors or The Floridian on Las Olas ("The Flo" is 24-7). If you head to South Beach, go to 3rd floor at the Perry for pina coladas, view, and people-watching. For some cultural time, check out Vizcaya, a historic property on Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove.

Many Annoyances & Incidents Marred Stay
This was one of the most annoying stays that I've ever had in a motel and I've stayed in 100's of motels and hotels all around the globe! It was nearly impossible to get any good rest for the 3 days that I stayed there because: 1. Location is right next to (i.e., nearly on top of) commuter light rail tracks. Trains come through every 15-20 minutes from 6AM to midnight and blast their horns long & loud since loc. is near a major intersection (I95 & W. Oakland Park Blvd.). 2. Consistent with other reviewers' comments, just forget about getting any reliable wireless or wired internet svc. anywhere in the motel, regardless of room location. Even the hotel's one and only public computer in the reception area couldn't get on the internet. Many guests complained about this problem, and the staff attempted to fix it during the entire stay but to no avail. 3. Major safety-concern incident: I was awakened @ 8 AM on 2nd day of stay by a caller with a heavy tropical accent who stated he was the front desk clerk. After asking me some leading Q's and pretending to be confirming my departure date and # of guests in the room, etc. (all of which he had wrong of course), he told me he had some "free samples" to give me. I told him no and after he continued to jabber on and annoy me even further and I realized that he was probably a scammer, I promptly hung up. I immediately called the front desk and they told me that they were aware of a scammer who tries to lure guests out of their rooms and then does who knows what to them. They had tried to catch him with no success (this had been going on for some time); and they had reported it to the local police. My immediate thoughts were: a) how did he know which rooms were occupied so he could place his calls?; and b) how was he able to ring the rooms directly w/o going through the operator? This attempted crime really does appear to me to smack of an "inside job" or collusion with a staff member. I was very concerned about my personal safety because of this and other observations I made (refer to below comment) for the duration of my stay. 4. I went down to 1st floor to get snacks from the one and only vending machine @ 3AM and there was suspicious activity and so many vehicles of every sort passing through the parking lot that I had to wait to get across the street! 5. Many of the residents are contractors and they enter their vehicles starting @ 4AM; all of which seemed to sound their horn when they deactivated their security systems. It was virtually impossible to get any good rest in this place! 6. After checking out I discovered that the elevator call btn. on my floor didn't work and I had to drag all my luggage down 4 flights of steps. 7. The housekeeping staff only had to clean my room once as I declined svc. the other days. All they did that day was provide clean towels and did no cleaning that I could see; and they didn't even bother to make the bed. 8. The door into my room stuck so badly that I had to act like a football linebacker and put full shoulder force against it to open it. 9. My cell phone failed completely (electronics problem) and I attempted to make a long distance call from my room, as I had been told by the front desk clerk when I checked in that [surprisingly to me] long distance calls from the room within the territorial U. S. were "free". After getting the busy signal on every try for 15 minutes I called the front desk and was informed that the motel doesn't permit dialing long distance calls from the room; even though instructions are provided on how to dial such calls on the phones in each room and even though I had given them my CC when I checked in. How deceptive and inconvenient!

having stayed at this great location, several times, just south of ft lauderdale, right off the 95, I was disappointed that it is becoming so run-down (in just the past 8months) pool in sun still nice, but property is failing; too bad

Good price for the location
It was a good stay, the room was properly cleaned, but the lobby area was too cramped especially during the complimentary breakfast time.

Stay Elsewhere
Dingy, dirty rooms. "Non-smoking" room smelled of smoke. Walls are thin so you hear your neighbors. Some things were not working (lights, TV remote) and everything was dirty. Would not stay here again, no matter how cheap!
