Great Hotel for a weekend getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at The Shores over the Memorial Day weekend. It is a very upscale hotel with Beautiful Pool deck - lots of comfy chairs and big umbrellas. My one complaint...I did not have a room with a balcony. It never occurred to me to ask. I know I had an Ocean Front room so I guessed I assumed it would have a balcony. When I ask the next day to move. A tall gentlemen almost laughed when I requested this. It was expensive to stay for the Memorial Day weekend so I would expect my wishes to be taken seriously and respectfully. I didn't like the Gentlemen's attitude when he finished his conversation to us...something like better luck next time or live and learn...that just wasn't necessary. The valet crew was very friendly!

Family friendly

The Shores Resort and Spa, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida was very comfortable. The room was clean and very very comfortable. Had an ocean view and it was fantastic. I loved the fact that the swimming pool was right next to the beach yet closed out to the general public therefore kind of private. The wait staff were friendly and always at our service. It was a great stay and I would definitely stay there again and again and recommend it to family and friends.

a great place to stay.

the shore resort and spa is a great place to relax, despite the fact that the room was very small and you have to park your car across the street, the hotel has the best location, one side faces the ocean and the other faces the indian river, we got a room with incredible views of the river, the staff is friedly and helful, there are many resturants within 5 minutes drive of the hotel or you can have a romantic dinner on their own ocean front restaurant. My wife and I spent most of our stay on their private beach and we loved it. we are going back in july.

Get pampered at The Shores!

The Shores was a true luxury resort. The room was huge and included a dressing room, white robes, a bed with mosquito netting and a balcony. The staff made me feel very welcome, as if my comfort was their first priority. The restaurant was pricey but the food and service was well worth it. The view from the pool deck was beautiful and both the pool and spa were well kept and inviting. The pool deck included outdoor beds that you can lay on and a fire pit so you can sit outside at night in front of the fire and watch the ocean. Very romantic!! I can't wait to go back again!

Great Honeymoon location

It was wonderful,, very relaxing, romantic and comfortable. We would deffinately go back. It is pricey but worth it. Suggestion~ request a room with a tub if you are into relaxation with your honey. Ocean front view was great and we had a wonderful time. The staff was superb and friendly. See if they have all inclusive rates as we did not so we did not get to experience the spa. As I said we were on our honeymoon and we told the staff we did not get any extrat treatment and that was fine, we were left alone and they respected the other wise occupied sign. The towles smelled like caremel and the in room soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion was wonderful also. Over all I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Great for a romantic getaway!

The Shores resort and spa was a great hotel to visit in Daytona. I liked the rooms with breath taking views of the beach. The pool had a great tiki bar. The massages were wonderful and available pool side in a relaxing cabana or in the comfort of my own room. The whole atmosphere was friendly. The hotel was convenient to shops and restaurants. We will visit again next year.

Excellent Hotel

I could tell from the moment I walked to my room for the first time (without bags mind you, so people could not tell I was a new customer) that I would experience excellent customer service during my stay. I was greeted by various staff three times and offered assistance. It was fairly impressive. The room was immaculately clean and the housekeeping was very friendly. The hotel is right on the beach and has an entrance from the pool. It was overcast outside on some of the days we were there, so it was nice to enjoy the heated pool during these times. FYI, bring your own beach towels as the hotel doesn't allow their towels on the beach. It makes sense though if you think about it. Despite what people say, there are PLENTY of places to eat around the hotel. If you want more choices, Port Orange is just a short drive (ten minutes tops) down Dunlawton Avenue, and there are many restaurants and fast food joints in this little town. I do admit that the hotel restaurant and bar is too expensive. This is the only downside about the hotel. We had breakfast there once and spent $48 for two adults and a two year-old. Overall, this was a great experience. My husband and I were very excited to find our new getaway spot. We plan on frequenting this hotel in the future.

Go to Port Orange for more dining choices. It's a short drive down Dunlawton from Atlantic Ave. It has Panera, Boston Market, KFC, Chick-fil-a, Dustin's BBQ, Chilli's, Stonewood Grill, McDonalds, Tijuana Flats, and much more. All restaurants are close together on the main road. Enjoy!

Wonderful Hotel, flooding rains

We flew down for a wedding. The weather was rainy and overcast, with a lot of flooding in the area. The view of the ocean and beach from our hotel room at Shores Resort and Spa, and sounds of the ocean were relaxing and energizing at the same time. The wedding ceremony was outside and although overcast, the rain held out until the bride and groom had their first dance, then we had to go inside. The hotel was great, everyone was friendly and cheerful. The massages were wonderful. We'd love to come again.
