Where is the 4th star?
Don't be fooled by the 4 star rating on this hotel. It is a 3 star, at the most. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice hotel, but not even close to a real 4 star resort. The hotel was nice and clean, has a very good location, and the staff is pretty friendly. I don't know what the requirements to be considered a resort are, but they offer very little besides a spa, a very small gym and a boring pool. They don't even have chairs and umbrellas for you at the beach. No pool activities for kids, no music, and nothing to do at the hotel besides bake by the pool.If you got the breakfast coupons, the breakfast is decent for one day, but if you are staying more than a couple of days the exact same breakfast gets old pretty quickly. We stayed in room 710, which is tiny. It looks like a converted big linen closet. It is due to the configuration of the hotel. if you get a room ending on a "10" e.g. 610, 510,410......Hope you packed lightly. It is tiny. Overall, this is a "nice" hotel. I probably would not stay there again. I would try to find something for the same price, or even pay a little more for some extras....

the Barnacles restaurant a mile North in Atlantic Ave is awesome. Great seafood. Best lobster lasagna ever.

Beach Vacation
Stayed in a limited view room on the third floor. The floors were carpeted and mildewed resulting in a horrible smell. The curtains for the room didn't even fit the window. We were told this was "normal for city-view rooms" and therefore privacy was non-existant. Would recommend spending the extra money to stay in a part of the hotel that is actually up-kept.

3 women getaway
All in all the hotel was nice, relaxing and convenient. I would reccomend this hotel and will stay there again when I go back to Daytona.

Great Place for a Family Reunion
We were there for a family reunion, the hotel was very accommidating. The rooms were great with plenty of room or everyone!! It was our first time in Daytona, and the hotel is in a great location to see everything!

"Good rates for the location"

great location
Upon check-in the front desk staff was not helpful, and almost rude. The room was a little smaller than I prefer, traveling with two children. The hotel is in a great location parasailing right on the beach and within walking distance to food and shopping. Pool is open late! The hotel does charge for parking, which I was not aware of until checkout.

Great Family Vacation
We enjoyed the trip but the hotel smelled very moldy and the steps that lead to the beach needs to be cleaned up (weeds need to be cut and steps cleaned off). We really liked being close to everything. Would definitly keep the Plaza Resort and Spa in mind for our next travel opportunity.

Good Race Day
I liked the hotel overall. The lobby is very nice and the rooms were well maintained. The front desk ladies were mostly nice, seemed a little tense or something that day. I did not like the service at the small cafe in the lobby. We did not eat at the sit down dining room, we just had time to use the small shop in the lobby. The counters were very dirty the two times we went in there. The lady in the morning was not nice at all to guests. The coffee was terrible and at $2 per cup, it should be a darn good cup of coffee. Prices at the small cafe and convenience shop were very high. I did enjoy the stay. Will stay again, but will bring my own munchies.

I would not recommend the small cafe in the lobby of the Plaza. Bring your own munchies and soda. Whatever you do, don't buy the coffee, its terrible and the old gal behind the counter will start your morning off terribly. They don't believe in cleaning counter tops either. Not very good at all.
