Daytona Beach oceanfront resort near shopping, international speedway
True to its name, Ocean Shore Resort occupies a prime spot on the World's Most Famous Beach. The wide, 23-mile long beach creates the ultimate sun-and-sand vacation for couples as well as families. My review of Ocean Shore Resort
the staff were very friendly at check in. they gave us our room and we went to it and it had not beed touched. We then got a 2nd room that did not have the same amenities as the first so we went back again. We then just decided to upgrade to oceanview for a minimal fee and we were fairly pleased with room. As the night went on and we went to sleep, we woke up with a drop of water on our face and then I heard it again on something else. We turned the lights on and the condensation on the ceiling was dripping all over the room. Despite better judgement we dried it off and went back to sleep. The pool appeared to be clean, but the kiddie pool was full of green and tadpoles. The inside of the hotel was under construction but they remained quiet and did not interupt our stay. We do not plan to stay here again unless some serious renovations are made.

Family Friendly
Upon arriving, our rooms were not ready, even though check-in was at 3pm and it was pass 3. Sheets and blankets were clean and also the bathroom. The front of the hotel needed a bit of a face-lift. The parking was horrible, if you came to the hotel after 8pm there was no parking. But the worse was when we went out for the day, room service made up our rooms but forgot to close the door behind her. When I arrived that night, my door was left unlocked, luckily nothing was missing, but I will never stay there again!

Cheap Hotel
The bare minimum in comfort...the lock on the door to the adjacent room was broken.

Cheap and in a good location. Thats it
The hotel was generally a mess. Our first room had a fire alarm that kept chirping and a giant hole that was kicked in to the adjoing room door. Went back downstairs and the crazy woman at the front desk gave us another room. That one was OK, we had a nice view of a roof covered in trash and beer cans. The hotel was dirt cheap and in a good spot on daytona. It is a breaker hotel, so if your not on spring break looking to put holes in things, it might not be good for you.

My review of Ocean Shore Resort
We were not satisfied at all with our stay at this hotel. The only good thing about this hotel was the pool it was very nice but on Monday the hotel was towing everyones car they said that we could not use the pool after we checked out. I have not had that problem at any other hotel i have stayed at on Daytona Beach. The rooms were somewhat clean, but the hotel was very run down and old.

Good location but needs updating
Ocean Shore Resort appears to have undergone some renovations but needs more. The beds were old and very soft. Room was large because there was no furniture save the beds, nightstand and the tv cabinet. There was a a nice counter area by the microwave and fridge but nothing to sit on except the beds. Door to the balcony would not close properly. The view of the parking lot was grand as were the old plastic chairs set out there for your comfort. Location was good, parking adequate. The elevator could use some deodorizer though.

Good for the money
Old and needs work,but friendly staff and Location,Location,Location! Close to speedway(5m)and right on the beach. There are nicer places at comparable prices.

beach is nice but...
The beach and the boardwalk were nice, but the hotel was pretty old and kinda rundown. we still had fun though.

very old hotel
old, run down and very fowl smelling hotel. It was right on the beach, but that was the only good part of the hotel.
