No Room Service
This hotel looks like an old plantation home. The rooms were clean and the grounds are well kept. My one problem was when I called for room service, I was told that they do not offer this service. For me a big disappointment, because all I wanted was some coffee brought to the room in the morning.

Delightful Stay
Our main purpose for stopping at The Plantation was to see manatees in the wild, a new experience for us. We took the afternoon excursion from the marina and were not dissapointed a bit. In fact, we were elated with everything, our captain's knowledge and personableness, the length of the trip around the bay, and for seeing at least sixty to seventy manatees. That was very exciting for us. Also, we had the hotel and grounds, it seemed, practically to ourselves. I hope to go there again and highly recommend The Plantation on Crystal River to others.

Great short stay
My husband and I stayed here for a night for a short getaway. The room was nice and the folks in the dive shop were very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the wildlife that we were there to see!

Best thing in CR
The hotel was okay, definitely over priced! But, thats the only decent hotel in Crystal River. The AC in my room did NOT work, so that was uncomfortable.

Thin room walls let a lot of noise through
This hotel is in a great location on Crystal River, and it appears to be recently renovated, so it is clean, modern in a 1960s setting and welcoming. However, the room walls are extremely thin. We had to call the security to quiet down a guests that were having too much fun in the room next to ours - they weren't being extraordinarily loud, but the walls were so thin we could not sleep - and we have to get up at 5 the next morning. Staff are friendly - the service at the restaurant was slow, but food was OK. There is only wireless in the lobby, you have to pay $9.95/day to use it in your room. Our main reason for this trip was to snorkel with manatees. From the Plantation Inn website, their own diveshop appeared worse/less clear than others in the area, so we went with another dive shop. Now we know the logistics would have been much less complicated if we had gone with the Plantation Inn diveshop. We did, however, take the sunset cruise the hotel offered, and it was nice and worth the $20.

Try having a cup of tea and Panini at the Highlander Cafe, on Citrus Ave. Very cute, cozy place, lovely people and good food.

valentine day get away
Everything was great. the only thing I would add would be a small microwave oven to the room. Every other place that I have stayed had one.

Take the drive down the Orzello Trail Road, It is a very scenic drive with great seafood dining at the end of the trail.
