Great Location

The Windsor Inn was located within close proximity to Dupont Circle. It therefore, was only a short walk to the White House and other memorials. Dupont Circle is a Metro stop so it was very easy to get around town quickly and economically. Within a few blocks there were many choices for dinning - both upscale and eclectic. The room was a little smaller than I would normally like, but was entirely comfortable for one person. Two people would be a little tight. Overall it was a good value for the money in downtown Washington on a weekday. If a person likes small European style hotels, the Windsor Inn will do just fine.

Excellent continental breakfast

The desk staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The 2 double bed room was clean and updated; the bathroom was large and had been newly remodeled throughout. There were lots of towels available. The neighborhood was safe and very close to both the green/yellow and red subway lines. As w/ most cities, it is easier to go places by subway. New Hampshire Ave and surrounding streets have 2 hr parking restrictions except at night; cars must be moved by ~7am. You might prefer not having a car (as I did)or would need to find a parking garage -the desk person should know where these would be, might want to call first. Oh, the continental breakfast was great- hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, croissants, toast, bagels/cream cheese, juice, cereal/milk, fruit. Nice dining room to sit in. Yes, I would stay at the Windsor again !

A gem...

Charming architecture and decoration. Bathrooms very modern and immaculate. Breakfast was served out of a former dining room where you could all eat around a central table, but there were also small tables in a nearby room where you could eat alone if you wish. Easy and pleasant walk to govt offices on M St. Would definitely return for business or pleasure. Very reasonable price for central DC

Great overnight stay

Good Hotel for Price

The hotel is very nice. It is in a fairly quiet area and after getting some help with the cable tv and such, it was a comfortable place to stay. I was happy with the deal I received and would definitely stay here again.

Friendly

At first the hotel staff located us in the basement area. The room was very small and didnot have a phone. We asked for another room and was given one. The room was located on the second floor and twice the size.We were happy with this room. The location was one block from a bus stop. This bus took us to within one block of the Smithsonian museums. The continetal breakfast was adequate and restaurants two blocks away.
