Best deal in town
Yes, this hotel is basic, but it's also clean, cheap and in a GREAT location. The best value I've found in DC.

Great Location
I very much enjoyed staying here. I got a reasonable price for a room I expected to be small, but turned out large and comfy with an antique feeling. Breakfast is simple and could be very much improved, but the coffee was great and the pastries. Also, each of the three staff members I met were extremely helpful and kind!

noisy spartan room
This single was right next to the lobby, the stairs and the way to the breakfast room so EVERY sound was audible. The door, greetings, conversations, luggage, plumbing, steps, you get the picture. Breakfast was beyond basic. I wish things were better as it is located within 3 blocks of where I will return for future visits but as it is I will seek other accommodations.

Good value
An old inn with no recent renovations except the bathroom, which had an upgraded shower. Sink is in the main room. Old TV and poor cable service. Good location and very helpful staff. Good value.

Great location
Price was very reasonable and location was great. I would stay here again if I had to. I wish I received my washington post but maybe I checked out too early ? (7:30 am)

Small,clean,comfy hotel,GREAT location..friendly staff...average breakfast..room was small but very clean and well maintained.. Has a old world charm... Negatives-no elevator so you need to carry your stuff along the upstairs...

Great overnight stay
This was a terrific find. The room was smaller, but clean. Boutique hotel. I had my own bathroom. No tub, but the shower was fine. It's pretty close to the Dupont Circle Metro. The room was very quiet, and a comfy bed. Plus a breakfast in the morning! Thanks.

No Frills, But Priced RIght
I was looking for something inexpensive close to the heart of DC and this filled the bill. If you are looking for extras and upscale, this is not for you, although it is very quaint in an old fashioned way. For meeting basic requirements, this works: it's comparatively cheap, clean and in an excellent location. If a little peeling wallpaper and small accommodations would bother you, look elsewhere. It would depend on the person to whom I was advising whether or not I would recommend this to them. I would consider staying here again.
