Dining

international lounge
The keynote of the international is the feeling of grown-up glamour and sophistication that reigned throughout the Kennedy years - the golden age of All-American-Style; full of promise and ambition. This is not Austin Powers or Warhol Pop. Think Babe Paley; think dressed up, crisp clothed jet-setters and kings of commerce enjoying a classic champagne cocktail, nibbling an elegant snack, while engaging in intense flirtation and conversation into the wee hours - after all one can always stay over.
No. 10 Thomas
No. 10 Thomas offers Contemporary American cuisine and the perfect ambience for any meal. Watch the "Early birds" at Logan Circle in the morning, sunbathers taking a dip in our pool after lunch, or the sunset over National City Christian Church in the evening. Sip a Glass of Champagne or enjoy a cocktail by candle light on our Poolside terrace and make a wish while counting the shooting stars over Washington D.C.

excellent hotel, tiny rom

We were delighted to find a room for only $80 in a classy hotel in central Washington DC. Everything was great - the quick, friendly service by staff, the location near the McPherson Sq., Metro, and the spacious lobby area with restaurant that we did not get a chance to try in only one night. The room, however, was very small, and the queen size bed seemed too small for us. It would have been fine for one person. We thought of asking for a cot, but the room was so small that there would be no space for it. The shower, however, seemed exceptionally well designed, and everything, including wifi and TV worked fine.

Awesome Stay for the Price

We bought a flight + hotel deal and I could not believe how much hotel we got for the price! The staff was awesome, the housekeepers were awesome, the location was awesome, the whole stay was awesome! The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and I will definitely stay there again - as well as recommend it to my friends!

Very Pleasant Stay

The Washington Plaza is in a very nice and safe location. The front desk service was excellent - people were helpful and friendly. We were given room 819 which was small but very clean and modern. The view was of lower rooftops, but we didn't care since we were only staying for one night. However, the room was right next to the elevators and the noise was pretty loud and annoying. So, on our way out to lunch, we stopped off to ask Orlando if we could be placed in another room, if one was available. Without hesitation, he upgraded our room to something about twice the size and far away from the elevators (stay away from all rooms ending in 19). The view from the 9th floor (I believe it was room 900) was of the pool (which was full of water but closed for the season) and the entire Thomas Circle - very cool. We checked in around 2PM and then walked a few blocks to get lunch at the Commissary (pretty good food). At around 7PM, we walked to Cuba Libre which was about a 15 minute stroll (I think it was near the Verizon Center). I would recommend this place and we'll probably go back when we stay in D.C.

Great Value & An Architectural Landmark

From the greeting by the front desk staff on this most recent business trip, to the newly renovated room, to the fine restaurant and hospitality staff, the Washington Plaza is an excellent value. And it's a Morris Lapidus design from the 60's that has been revitalized beautifully. Highly recommended!
