For a wedding
You should consider this!!!
There was a managers reception. It was wonderful and the staff was genuinely friendly. At the reception three different staff came up to share friendly conservation about Washington, DC. Our room was beautiful and clean. When we needed a taxi a staff person got one for us. With all the staff around, we felt very safe. It is a very nice area! Thank you.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
After our 8 hour drive, the walk to the many choices of ethnic eateries was welcomed. We just had to choose one. We took a short trip to the zoo to see the giant pandas. Even in the rain it was fun for us, although many might not have enjoyed this.

Mom from Dixie
Washington in July 2010
The hotel was good ++ but our room had a nasty stain on the ceiling in the bathroom. It wasn't very big but was moldy and unsightly. The initial look of the room is good; however, upon closer inspection the sheets on one of the beds had stains as well as one of the chairs. But the hotel does look to have been renovated relatively recently with nice carpets. Definitely worth being a HHonors member so you can get a local newspaper delivered each morning and able to go through express checkout. A little out of the way but nice restaurants within walking distance and felt safe.

great location for the price
Almost all was really good; 2 complaints: not enough umbrellas in the pool, and high parking fee in the hotel.

Vist to DC in May 2010
The rooms at this older 1950's hotel have been meticulously redone and surprised me because we were only paying $ 115 per night. The standard for the room was very significantly higher than $ 115 normally would buy!
