Hilton on Conn Ave -DC

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

I've either stayed or been at tons of DC hotels and for the price we paid (204 total for one night) the Hilton was perfect. Sure you could find cheaper, but you pay for what you get. pros, the bed was super comfy and staff. Cons, the Valet fills up by 6pm on the weekends, so if your just getting the room for a night and want to valet your car get there by 5pm. Otherwise there is 20 dollar overnight garage parking across the street, located in the same building as Ruth Chris (spicy lobster is excellent). We were just using the Hilton to get ready for a night out and crashing afterwards, but it was a great choice. Also, request the 10th floor, there is a cash bar / lounge and you get free breakfast up there from 6 - 10am. Our room was also upgraded and we got late checkout without even requesting either! The guy who checked us in was absolutely cool and hooked us up!

Great staff, LONG hallways

PROS: The restaurant choices are plentiful, the coffee shop is convenient with lots of great options, the lobby is beautiful, free wi-fi in lobby with tables and chairs to meet your colleagues, the staff was very friendly and helpful CONS: The location is several blocks away from a Metro stop. On a nice day, you could take your time and enjoy the shops and people of the eclectic area. But, if you are on a business trip (women wearing heels) skip the metro and hail a taxi. Secondly, the elevator is in the center of the building. It's a LONG (4-5 mins) walk when your room is towards the outer edge. Not a huge deal, unless you are tired after a full day and looking to just get to your room and rest. OVERALL: Totally recommend this hotel for the value.

Nice hotel, but wouldn't stay again

It was okay. The beds and bathroom was nice and I was able to bring my dog, but the room was a smoking room when I asked for non smoking. I was put on the third floor when there was barely anyone at the hotel, so not a great view. The coffee and sugar that came in the room was defective (packets were open). Bathroom counter was small barely fit my bag of toiletries. Staff was nice but had to wait 20 minutes to check out because only one person was on staff. Also parking was $36 for 24 hours, which is pretty expensive and you had to pay for the gym. They have a pool but I stayed in the winter so the whole outside area was closed. It was also about a 10-15 min ride to DC center so I always had to drive which is why I wouldn't stay there again.

Executive rooms are great

Got a pretty sweet deal on the executive room, my only complain was that the view from the room was facing another building. Although, i found the room's furniture to be of high quality, the amount of power outlets very useful and most important the king sized bed is the best i ever l laid on. Lots of transportation around. I'm sure i will stay there again.

excellent location

Hotel is in an excellent location. It is a big convention type hotel, but you do not get a crowded or lost feeling. My room was small, but I gi\ot a great deal on it. Good amenities.

Short Trip

The hotel itself was excellent -- modern, renovated, stylish, lots of amenities. The front desk staff, though professional, were not friendly or very helpful.
