The Liaison Capitol Hill, an Affinia Hotel

While there were some very nice things about this hotel, the pool, which is purportedly open from 10 am until 10 pm, was closed for three late afternoons and evenings out of the four days of our stay. When we complained, we were told they were, "Between a rock and a hard place"....as their supporters book (the only) pool. After long, hot days of D.C. sightseeing, this is no way to treat paying guests. We suggested an online calendar to notify prospective customers of pool closing dates, or....at the very least..... they should remove the cards in every room which tells of the pool hours. Very disappointing service. Try the Hyatt or the George hotels, in the same area.

The hotel is an easy walk to Union Station. The staff is friendly. The bed was quite comfortable.

This was our first visit to D.C. and we only had one day so location was important. The Liason Capital Hill was a great choice for the location and it was a bonus that it was such a great value! The hotel is beautiful and clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The Restaurant Art and Soul was fantastic. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone and plan on staying there the next time we are in Washington DC.

The room was very nice: quiet, comfortable, decent-sized, stylish but not over-the-top. Staff was very nice, but they often seemed a little shorthanded. Location is excellent, just a block and a half from Union Station. Worked out well for our weekend getaway with a young child.

I came into town to visit my Senators and Congressman and this was the perfect location. My room was very comfortable, clean and quite adequate for just me. It was a small room, but it wasn't a problem for me at all. I would stay there again, for sure.

I appreciate the effort that went behind making sure my reservation snaffu was solved, although there should not have been a problem to begin with. The rooms are small and are filled with furniture that is too big for the space. I banged my knee pretty hard on one of the chairs while negotiating my way to the window. The floors and walls were black or dark-brown, while stylish makes it difficult to tell what the level of cleanliness was. The bed was comfy and room service was gourmet and excellent.

This is a terrific hotel. It has been very well re-furbished. The staff were polite, chatty and friendly. The location is ideal. It is a short walk from the Mall, Chinatown and Eastern Market is just a five minute drive away. The rooms are very well appointed, clean and comfortable. I could not fault the hotel.

This hotel was a good find for the price. A luxury hotel in DC for under $100 a night is a find. Very comfortable bed with choice of several pillows. However as of January 1 this hotel was being renovated. The room we stayed in showed some signs of wear but was in very good condition, overall. (The TV needed replacement as the colors were askew.) The biggest negative was the sound that could be heard from the lounge or other rooms (we were on the second floor). Please do not get the wrong idea, the noise wasn't terribly loud and didn't keep us awake, but it was noticiable.

This is a nice hotel with a 60s Mad Men vibe! If you're arriving by train you can walk from Union Station. The Capitol is nearby too. Rooms were clean and quiet with comfortable beds. I'd stay here again!
