Wonderful DC Birthday Trip

The Hay Adams was an amazing hotel in the Perfect Location. Just Steps from the White house and walking distance to two different Metro Lines. It was a convenient spot as a home base to take in all of the sites. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Our room, unfortunately, overlooked the alley/dumpster, so I would spend a bit more for a view next time, but in reality, we received a great price and we just closed the curtains whenever we were in the room, which wasn't very often. The restaurant was wonderful and the bar downstairs was the perfect spot for a nightcap. All in all, a wonderful experience.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Buy a daily pass for the metro if you plan on doing a lot of sightseeing. For $9 per day, per person, we were able to hop on and off. In one day we were able to go to Arlington Cemetary, then hop on the train up to the Zoo to see the Giant Panda and hop back on to get close to Georgetown and then back to our hotel. It's also a perfect choice to get to and from the Reagan airport.

Wonderful Getaway In Washington,DC

The Hay Adams Hotel in Washington, DC was above and beyond anything we expected. We were upgraded to a studio upon arrival and the room was exquisite. The staff was not only attentive to our every need, but were some of the most personable and pleasant people you could meet. We would definitely choose the Hay Adams when we make another visit to Washington, DC.

The best staff for sure!

Just took the wife to DC to see the Cherry Blossoms! We stayed at the Hay- Adams which has a very good location. The staff is as good as anywhere. The food in their restaurant is very good as well. My room was 334 and was ok! On Thursday 3/22/2012 I got a wake up call from Waste Management trash company at 6 am. For the next 45 munites they dumped trash in the trucks. So be careful of what room they put you in because from Monday thru Thursday you will get a 6 am wake up from Waste Management. Everything else was great!
