Nice pool, rooms were ok. Water pressure low in shower but location was great for sight-seeing monuments.

Adequate for a stay near the mall
We stayed as a famliy of four to do a five day visit to the mall. The saving grace was the close proximity and the helpfulness of the staff who made a genuine effort to to make our stay comfortable. Unfortunately, for the rest of the stay it was mediocre. This is clearly a hotel needing updating and renovation.. They appear to be doing this. Unfortunately, the construction / demolition in front went into the night 10:00-11:00 PM. The exercise facilities are reasonable, not great. Pool is there but we were underwhelmed with the atmosphere and my kids who are fishes, did not swim the whole time. Balconies need some furniture. Restaurants had an intermittent odor which might have been Washington itself or something more troubling. Meeting facilities look very good. I suspect that this will be much better in about 2-3 years when renovations and updating are done. For now.... Fine as a place to sleep and visit the mall but do not expect much else

Bad vacation
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable. I woke up with a sore back and stiff neck every morning. There are no restaurants near the hotel. Would not stay here again.

Moon over Washington
Location, Location, Location
A perfect location for doing DC --- 10 minutes easy walk (even with a wheelchair) to the mall --- head out the door and turn right. Just go down the elevator for the Metro and to the Promenade for cheap, multicultural fast food. We ordered a superior view room for only $10 more per night, which was gorgeous at night when the building across the way disappeared. I have attached one beautiful photo from our room of the moon and the lit Washington monument, but it appears the system has cropped out the monument. Ah well... We booked early and the hotel had the best price around. However, the third party booking agent apparently didn't tell the hotel that we booked the superior view --- we were fortunate the hotel had a superior room available when we went to check it. Next time I will confirm that with the hotel in advance. Most of the staff was really delightful --- more welcoming, helpful and quick to respond than other hotels in my experience. The room was large enough to hold two double beds and a cot and still have plenty of walking room, but the thermostat didn't work and the patio door didn't open easily. These were not show-stoppers and we were too lazy to change rooms after we reported these problems. Were it not for these maintenance issues, I would give the hotel 5 stars. The main hotel restaurant had a varied menu and the food was good. I was shocked that it was inexpensive relative to other restaurants in the area. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay and see Washington. I look forward to staying there again.

Take the elevator down to the Promenade and have Breakfast Pitas at Roti. They make their pita bread fresh --- the best pita bread I've ever had.

good rest spot between museums
Metro couldn't be more convenient. I visited 7 museums in 5 days and I'm not one to rush! But if you want to walk to or from the Mall from the hotel, allow plenty of time without great scenery. Our room was upgraded, so we had a nice view of the city. It's mainly a businesspersons hotel, so the atmosphere was not very tourist-friendly. This was my second stay and I would stay again. Eveything worked! Charging for WiFi was an unwelcome surprise. All in all, a great value and comfortable room.

Great for Metro
Four of the five DC Metro lines are accessible without leaving the building. This area is all goverment buildings and absolutely dead at night. The hotel is very hard to find. No signage; however it is only 2-3 blocks from "The Mall" There is an extensive food court under the hotel, but closes at 6:30pm and on weekends, which leaves only the hotel for food. The hotel has a bar, expensive, but there is always the Metro.

Great location, no free amenities
Stayed the weekend for a wedding. Fantastic location -- directly connected to a metro station, and 10 min walk to all the monuments as well as to the water. No free internet anywhere. No fridge, microwave, in-room safe. (+) coffee maker. Starbucks and bar/pub in the hotel. Walkway between metro and hotel is lined with eateries and small shops, all of which were closed on the weekend. Standard, comfortable, clean room. No noise from adjacent rooms. Friendly staff

Reluctant visitor
Good location but ...
This hotel is in a great location, particularly given it's on top of a multi-line subway station. However, when coming out of the station it is nearly impossible to find how to access the hotel - signage is very poor. Else, everything was good! Now that I know the secret handshake and have gained proficiency in orienteering, I would stay there again.
