Great place to stay for a conference

The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was great. The cost for parking your car was $33 per night. So, that was a bit pricey, but otherwise, everything was pretty much perfect.

Fantastic MLK dedication getaway/ accept for IRENE

The hotel is wonderful, the staff are very helpful, very nice, beautiful people. The free breakfast with the reservation is great. One thing the hotel does not have a restaurant, and the closet restaurant is 3 -4 blocks away. Therefore you have to leave the hotel to get lunch and dinner if you don't want what they serve for dinner. I'm not sure if you get dinner everyday except Fri. We received dinner the first day (Thu) but we understood it was a one time thing. I'm not clear on that. Unfortunately we did not stay the 4 days because of Irene(hurricane). Bottom line the room was beautiful, we loved it.

A stressful event turned out to be very pleasant

We did a cross-country road-trip to take our child to college. Hotel rooms were scarce, and we ended-up having to pay extra to get a suite because it was the only thing available. When I arrived, I was informed that despite I had requested non-smoking, the room was in fact smoking because that was the only thing available when I reserved the room and there was no other accommodations available. When I went to the room, although the hall way smelt of smoke, the room itself had no trace of smoke. And the extra money I paid for the suite was worth it. The staff was extra generous, polite, and helpful. Furthermore, the complementary hot breakfast, lunch/dinner was wonderful and full of variety. I will stay there every time I go to DC.

When we first arrived the front desk people were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for dinner and other DC sights. However, I do feel that they were short staffed, because after that there always seemed to be people waiting for assistance. The same is true for the valet service. If you are patient and don't mind waiting this is not a big deal. Room was great for my family of five and the mini kitchen very convenient. A wonderful walk to all the DC sights, I thought a good location and nice stay overall. Felt safe in this unfamiliar neighborhood.` Although we knew this, there is no pool, so be prepared on those hot DC summer days.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

On a nice day walk, or take a cab or the metro (subway) to any of the sites on and near The Mall. From the White House to the Capital and everything in between is about a mile or two from the hotel. Once you start walking from one to the other you lose track of the distance and enjoy the history and architecture.

Great stay, great food, great staff

My friends and I were in Washington D.C. to participate in the National Half Marathon race and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The complimentary breakfast was delicious every morning, the rooms were clean and fairly spacious, the location was very convenient, and the hotel staff were friendly, engaging, and more than accommodating! I would definitely choose to stay here again!

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Georgetown Cupcakes (TLC's DC Cupcakes) is a must-see, must-eat, must-visit kind of place. The long lines can be avoided if you pre-order on their website by 8pm the day before you visit. It saved my friends and I a hour wait in their line and it is worth the wait!

Great hotel for the money

The hotel was fantastically located - within walking distance to the White House! They even had a free welcome dinner during the week. It was simple fare, but it also included wine/beer, which was a nice treat. The room was nice, but our room smelled a little smoky. It wasn't so bad for us to complain, but it was somewhat bothersome. The breakfast was also great - a full hot buffet, including fresh-made waffles! The only negative was that the room got pretty crowded so seats were at a premium. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to folks looking to tour the DC area.
