Downtown hotel near the National Mall, museums and monuments
The Holiday Inn Washington-Capitol is in a prime location for visitors who want to be close to the Capitol Hill, National Mall and museums. Two Metro stations are nearby. Many rooms have microwaves and mini fridges. Kids eat for free at the on-site restaurant. The hotel lounge features live music. Cool off or relax by the seasonal rooftop pool and take in the view of the Capitol.

First time in Washingto DC
Very nice hotel with a great location. Room was clean and comfortable. The Room Service food was excellent!! Service was very good. Would definately stay again at this hotel again. Conveinently located only 2 blocks from the Mall so, very easy to get anywhere. Taxi's were always available and reliable. Metro and Trolley stops were only 2 blocks away and great for the museums!

Road Less Traveled
Quick Business Trip
It was the perfect location to the areas I needed to be at during my trip.The hotel is a very short walk to the L'Enfant Plaza metro station. A Starbucks is located next to the hotel and accessible without going outside. Also a very quick walk to a McDonalds and CVS store. Room was clean and comfortable. No complaints. I would definitely stay here again, even for a family trip with the kids.

Location is great for walking to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, NASA Headquarters, etc. Quick walk to L'Enfant Metro station also makes for easy access to many other DC attractions.

Walk to most attractions
The location is perfect for walking to the mall and most museums. Parking, however, is expensive at $30 per night and there is a $5 plus DC parking tax. Nits are the chair is a bit worn where it hits the table and initially the toilette seat is loose but got fixed. Make sure you ask for a quiet room since the train station and tracks next door is noisy if you face it.

Great Location
This hotel is just a couple of blocks from the mall - near the Air and Space Museum and the Native American museum. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.

CVS is just a few doors down. Buy drinks to carry with you at normal prices before you head for the museums.

1 block from Smithsonian Air Space Museum, 1 block from L'Enfant Plaza
This hotel is about as close to the main attractions around the mall you can get without staying at the Smithsonian itself. Hotel is 9 story with roof pool area view of capitol at night that is fit for framing. At street level you are walking distance from a CVS, McDonalds, Quizinos, Starbucks and other local food places. Hotel's offerings are also not bad but little pricey. Access to Metro at 7th and Maryland (L'Enfant Plaza) can be done via the Capitol Galleria Mall. L'Enfant has access to all Metro trains so travel around the city is made simple with a 1-7 day pass. Saves miles of walking around the city without fumbling each day on how much it cost to travel. The Metro in this city is fantastically deployed and run. People are courteous and helpful if you get lost too. Draw backs are the Amtrak stop on the south side of the building gets a little noisy at times. The hotel also seems to attract kids (teens) on 2-3 day trips with classmates so you may have to deal yelling, giggling in the halls and slamming doors. Aside from this the staff and location just can not be topped for the price.

Buy full day tickets for Metro(subway) and use it daily to travel. Save lots of money over car rentals and taxis. (We paid $141 total for 3ppl x 7 all day passes) Metro's largest hub (L'Enfant Plaza) is 1 block away through Capitol Galleria Mall. So walking to this metro stop requires very little outside time to access.

Great location
Very clean rooms, friendly staff, safe environment. Fabulous pillows and comfortable bed. Great bar close to lobby. Person I spoke with told me there was a microwave in the room but there wasn't . It would have been an additional charge to have it delivered. Not good!

Great intro to D.C.
This was my first time to D.C., and i can't say anything negative about it! The Holiday Inn Capitol was great. Excellent location ( 1.5 blocks to the Air & Sapce Museum and 2 blocks to the Smithsonian Castle. L Enfant Plaza Metro is less than a block away, and if you want to take the 5A Bus from Dulles Int. it drops you off right across the street. Good buffets offered for both breakfast and dinner and a nice bar to relax in at the end of a long day

Staff was very nice. Room was comfortable and clean. We picked this hotel due to location all the museums and National Mall. Also very close to a metro stop. We would stay there again hands down.
