Seemed like a newer hotel.

It was very quiet and the rooms were in very good condition. The metro stop was only a block away.

The National Mall is a relatively long walk from the hotel. I recommend taking a cab.

Decent hotel - great chef

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms modern and clean. The pool was smaller than I had hoped - not really suitable for swimming. The restaurant on the other hand really exceeded expectations. We did not dine better elsewhere in DC. I just wish they didn't advertise week round happy hour when they don't offer it at the weekend. Breakfast was OK.

Good stay

Location was convenient to the metro red line, which was great for our stay. The room was clean and comforable and well maintained. The only complaints were: 1) room looked out onto the roof, which would be ok except that the roof had some trash and disused tools strewn about it, which was not very pleasing and 2) the nightclub across the street played very loud music the Saturday night we were there. We were fairly deep in the building, but the noise could still be heard albiet faintly.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The Smithsonian also has a hangar out by Dulles Airport that holds the test shuttle "Enterprise" and the Enola Gay. It's a cool place to visit particularly if you have pre and teenage kids.

nice inside but bad location

We wanted to see D.C. but this hotel is too far from all of the memorials and not many cabs come by this hotel. Also, after 10-11pm the area around the hotel seemed to become a little unsafe, which a cab driver also told us. However, once you get into the hotel it is VERY nice. The rooms were clean and staff was nice. The hotel is across the street from a club that shuts down the street on weekend nights which is also pretty inconvenient if you're trying to get back to the hotel.

Awesome new hotel, friendly service

Great location close to a metro stop and one stop from Grand Central. Walkable distance to grand central. Transitioning neighborhood so not good to walk the neighborhood but did not need to. Great new supermarket right next door. 3 eating places on same block with business hours that have limited hours. Got a great price...two rooms ajoining. Beautiful decor, great indoor pool. Great restaurant for dinner and good breakfast. Very convenient via metro or taxi. Loved our vacation. Loved the Hilton Garden Inn. There is a night club across the street but the noise did not keep us awake.

Hotel and restaurant

Had the most amazing dinner this evening with 3 kids. The gourmet meal was unique. The southern influenced dishes were new and interesting to our California tastes. Loved the succotash, hush puppies and unique clam chowder. The rock fish with shrimp and mango rice was absolutely delish. The deserts, we tried 3 were also great. From chocolate pudding with banana ice cream, chocolate chip cookies and milk and the best was the pecan sunday...wow! The rooms and hotel looked brand new and decorated simply clean and comfortable. We will be here a week and wish we were going to be spending more time in the hotel. We will be sight seeing most of the time. Great staff too.
