You are paying for the Metro Access

This is very bare bones and small. The bed was very firm, but bedspread was way too thin. On the plus side, the Staff is very nice. I thought the cleanliness was fine, until I opened the bed to find a long black hair on the pillow! Ew. I would probably stay at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn in the future. Comparable metro access and price, but next to the grocery store and much larger, nicer rooms.

Work Trip

The first room was facing the train station and there was no blind on the window so I could be seen by all passersby. I requested a change in room.

Business/Pleasure Trip

Pulling in at 2 am wasn't how we planned, but the staff there couldn't have been more welcoming. They made sure we were able to get in our room to rest as quickly as possible. The next morning, we woke up and had breakfast in the cafe. It was really tasty. We walked about 5 miles or so that afternoon and the location of the hotel to the Metro was perfect. After a day full of walking, you don't want to have to walk more to get to your room. We will definitely book this hotel on our next trip.

Excellent Staff, Lovely rooms, Perfect Location, but Non-working Wifi and Parking Prices are Steep

I have absolutely no complaints about the staff or the hotel itself. The rooms and staff are excellent. However, our room was on a corner of the building, which is why I think our wifi signal was so weak. I was unable to use the internet at the hotel until the night before we left (we'd complained about this twice and the staff were really trying to work on the issue). We got a great deal for our room. However, $33 a day for parking pretty much turned our great deal into an average price for the stay. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and were happy to find a hotel in D.C. that was right next to the Metro!

Good Value with a Great Staff

The big plus of this hotel is it's a couple miles from the heart of the city while being extremely close to the Metro Bus stop and Rail station. This makes it extremely convenient for anyone who wants to avoid some of the heavy city traffic (and prices) while still having access to all DC has to offer. When I arrived, I had an issue with my PS3 where the TV was not able to produce a video signal while hooked up with my HDMI cable. I called the front desk and shortly after, someone from Maintenance was up to assist. While his knowledge was limited, he did his absolute best to try and resolve the problem - we tried with another TV in another room, he brought a different set of cables, and he came back a third time with another HDMI cable to see if mine was the issue. In the end, we weren't able to resolve and I'm guessing it had something to do with the model of the TV, but I was impressed with the lengths he was willing to go to help me out. A+ customer service. The rest of the staff I bumped into were extremely friendly as well. The $33/night valet parking is a bummer, but somewhat expected in a city. I noticed a lot of people complaining about the noise of the metro and this worried me, but I didn't hear anything and our room was facing the tracks. Overall a clean, convenient place to stay in the city with a great staff.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

I highly recommend doing a bit of exploring if you're looking for something to eat - Five Guys and the other restaurants across the street are convenient, but there are some real hidden gems if you're willing to walk a short distance (A Litteri, DCity Smokehouse).

Excellent stay!

Pleasantly surprised by our stay here! Its a bit out of town so we expected it to be a bit of a pain to get around but theres a metro station literally next door making it easy to get into the centre of town and to main shopping districts. Staff were pleasant and eager to help with any queries. We used the valet service who were all excellent although $33 a night adds a bit to the cost of the room. Dinner wise theres a Five Guys across the road which is highly recommended for a quick burger. We had breakfast in the hotel the first morning and were disappointed. It was overpriced and not to the standard we expected - given it was fairly empty suggests it wasn't a one off. Overall the stay was brilliant - staff were great - a 7-11, five guys and metro all next door made were major pluses. We will likely stay here again in future.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Five Guys across the road - its like an upmarket Burger King where they really do cook the burgers to order and you really can have it any way you want with all the free optional extras they include. Major plus is the bottles of malt vinegar for the salty chips to get a proper taste of 'home' away from home.

Excellent

Not only was out stay excellent, the staff made it even better. The human factor often makes or breaks a hotel. THIS hotel had staff that created a positive memory for us. The hotel doors opened and we smelled Fresia wafting out. What a welcome. Smiling staff at every turn. Desk clerk who is related to one of my Atlanta students?! what are the odds? Coffee barista made my 7am zombie turn into a live human again. NOMA metro stop just steps away down a clean and dry sidewalk. Yes, we are most satisfied

Location, location, location!!

Stated here on a weekend trip to see the caps play at the Verizon center. Location was Fabulous! The hotel is just a very short walk from the NOMA Galludet station, a blessing since it was cold and raining during our visit. Thanks to its close proximity to the metro all of DC was easily accessible. The hotel itself was lovely, clean, and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In addition to the bar, restaraunt, cafe in the hotel. There were also several quick places to eat in close proximity. We will definitely be returning!
