Overall positive. Renovation was in place. Parking needs to be improved. People are very responsive. Kitchenette is small - no ventilation.

The hotel was very nice and in a great location, not too far from the subway but in a nice residential area but there are still several restaurants in the area. The room was a bit smaller than expected but ok for 1 person. Having the kitchenette was a great plus. Bring those walking shoes!

Family DC Trip
Staff was superb. They made sure we enjoyed our stay and helped us understand the metro system. Room was very spacious with kitchenette, which is great for families and groceries. Location was wonderful and very close to Dupont Circle for any restaurant, pharmacy, metro stop you needed. Negative point is LACK OF PARKING! They say they have 24 spots with first come-first serve basis. I don't know where they could be since buildings are so close and street spots fill up right away. Plan on paying $25 a day for parking ramp located two blocks away. But we had a Silverado truck and the attendant wouldn't let my husband park it...attendant scratched one of the mirrors and told my husband he hoped he wasn't coming back with the truck again because he didn't want it there. For being so close to all the other buildings and right on busy street leading into Dupont Circle, though, we were never bothered by any noise and beds were very comfortable. We would stay again when in DC.

Short walk from hotel
Don't bother with the buses...ride the train. It is so quick. Our 14-year old mastered it and I loved how it eliminated the hassles with no traffic delays. We came to DC and parked and never drove again until we left the city. Buy a SuperSaver Card which comes with $5 on it. We added another $10 to each of our cards and after three days we had only .05 left on each when we were done. You save money with each trip using that card vs. a paper ticket.

Great family spot
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and cool (we were there on the hottest weekend of the summer so far). It's close to Dupont Circle and some great restaurants and a grocery store. Love it. Will definitely be back!

Great hotel in great location
Staff very helpful and welcoming. Came back to hotel one night in the rain. Staff greeted us in the lobby with big towels to dry off. Very convenient to Dupont Circle metro stop - about 5 blocks and to all the restaurants in the Dupont Circle area. Think the hotel was originally an apartment house, because suites were huge, including a separate kitchen, area with sleeper sofa, walk-in closet, bathroom with separate vanity. Very comfortable, nicely decorated in art deco style.

Great Location, Good Hotel, Mess with Parking!!
We stayed at the Carlyle Suites Hotel for 4 nights during July 2012. Since we didn´t have any references we chose the hotel mainly because location and price, but I´m happy to say that it´s a very good hotel, with nice, clean, big bedrooms, warm staff and, in the case of our suite, usefull amenities such as microwave, fridge and electric stove top! You can tell that is an old hotel with good manteinance and some modern items. The only strong critique we have is regarding parking. Although as they promote, the parking in within the hotel perimeter, with limited spaces and FREE (something very rare in Washington DC) there´s no organization at all when it comes to priorities and available spaces. TThere is no waiting list or possible reserve. You almost have to "fight" with the other visitors for the available spot....if you are at the parking lot at the right time then the space is yours!....we believe they should work to change this.... However the overall experience was positive and we will highly recomend the Carlyle Suites Hotel!!!
