Great staff, dated room but clean.

Rooms are a little dated. TV was the old tube type with limited channels, but hey, you're in winter park who's gonna be watching that much tv right ? Weather ch. had no sound. The king sized "deluxe" bed was worse than sleeping on the ground. Very hard, with very little padding. The toilet had cracks in it. Staff was awesome! Went above and beyond.

Very enjoyable trip

The check in staff was rude. The bartender was fabulous. The room was very comfortable, but a microwave and fridge would have made it better. Overall this was a pleasant trip, the weather was our biggest obstacle.

Laid back in mud season

We visited during mud season and so had the place mainly to ourselves. The staff was very friendly with recommendations for places and activities available in this off season. The hot tub, pool and sauna were great. We were offered an upgrade to a better view and had a completely enjoyable time. The only crummy part was the meager continental breakfast, but the coffee was good.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Restaurants are a short drive away. During off season look for where the cars are parked. The locals know the good places. It worked every time!

Happy with our stay

Our room was clean, and just as described. The Forest view was decent, and we feel like we got a great deal. Our daughter enjoyed the pool, and she exclaimed that this hotel has everything. The continental breakfast just looked average, but convenient for people on the go. The shuttle to Winter Park seemed to run a little late, but due to the end of the season seems like staff was running short at the ski resort. We would stay again.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Not a bad idea to just drive across the street to the free parking by Vintage Resort, instead of waiting for the shuttle. Then you can just take the Cabriolet lift to the main resort area. We ate at Goody's and it was excellent!

Winter Park Mountain Lodge

The location of this hotel is wonderful and the Winter Park Resort runs a shuttle every 15-20 minutes, making this incredible accessible. It is pet-friendly and the staff was most helpful in making the stay very nice. The kids loved the pool/hot tub/sauna area which had windows to the outside making it very attractive. The signage in the hotel, unfortunately, was almost non-existent making it very easy to get lost in the maze going to the staff housing. While they didn't have breakfast, they did offer coffee and energy bars at the front desk.

Bring ice skates to take advantage of free skating either in town in Cooper Square or at the resort.

Ski dad

Good location right across US40 from the Winter Park base and friendly staff. Very limited underground parking is nice if you can get it and the kids enjoy the indoor swimming pool. Having the restaurant/bar is also very convenient for when you don't want to leave the hotel after skiing. The rooms are average quality but clean. Considering that Mountain Lodge is normally one of the cheapest places to stay near the base it is a good value, just don't expect the Ritz for what you are paying.

Not worth any amount of money!

We stayed in the deluxe king room 3rd floor. Pros: the location was close to the slopes, the old bus ran every 15 minutes back and forth, and the picture of the outside of the hotel was accurate. Cons: Too many to count but here is what I can remember. Inside was old and very worn, carpet was old warped and torn up in hallways and rooms. I actually stepped on a carpet tack by the bathroom and cut my foot. There were unrepaired holes in the walls and doors. The walls were so thin I could hear every word the next door neighbors were saying. Towels were scarce, I had to dig the washcloth out from under the shampoo/lotion samples so we could each have a washcloth. Bed was old and uncomfortable and the pillows felt like they had been washed and returned all clumped up inside. There was a large vacant space in the room that looks like some sort of furniture was missing. No refrigerator, what deluxe resort hotel room doesn't have a refrigerator? WIFI internet was spotty at best and I kept losing signal and having to reconnect (slow process) all the time. Shower water temperature fluctuated and I had to keep adjusting it so it would stay warm. Overall, it was not worth the money!!!! What a dump!
