Great value for the money...reasonable accommodations in the heart of Vail!! No complaints other than I wish there would have been a person to great us upon late arrival. Had a few minutes of panic locating keys and instructions to self check in.

Great location, comfortable room

We stayed at the Vintage while skiing at Winter Park. The location is great, easy 2-minute ride to the village via the Cabriolet. The staff is wonderful, very friendly, attentive to your needs. The rooms are clean and comfortable, especially the beds -- had a great night's sleep. They also have a large hot tub, sauna and heated pool that is wonderful after a day's skiing. One of the main reasons we enjoyed our stay was they are dog-friendly, and we were able to bring our two dogs with us for a modest fee. We would definitely stay there again.

A beautiful surprise

Summer stay and no air conditioning, but windows opened to allow for cool air. The Village offered food and shopping. View was awesome. Road Harley from Custer, SD through Estes and arrived at this beautiful resort for a price that was unbelieveable. In winter the rate would have been 4 times the amount.

Deno's Restaurant in Winter Park offers great food. The Village Restaurants close at 7pm so did not try that. Had a great breakfast and the great news was they had a Starbucks

great for the price

We went to check in, but they didn't have our reservation. As it turned out, despite what it said on the reservation printout, they had reserved us across the street in their sister hotel. It turned out to be reasonably nice, good location, small rooms, but sufficiently comfortable, and definitely worth the off-season price! There's a nice community area on the first floor, and there was (limited) underground parking. Desk people were friendly.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

We came to photograph moose in RMNP, and although we didn't see any on this trip, it was snowing, and the park was stunning. In any season, it's worth the drive to Grand Lake and beyond.

Middle of the road, but good value

We stayed only one night, on a weekend trip to hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. This hotel definitely shows its age, but the room was clean and very spacious. We didn't need or use the kitchenette, but it was clean and nicely appointed. The refrigerator, although larger than the typical hotel type, was rather loud. It did not disturb our sleep, though. The bathtub drain ran very slow, but at least it ran. Desk staff were friendly, cheerful, and eager to please, both at checkin and checkout, and offered shopping and dining advice. Despite overlooking the pool, our 4th floor room was very quiet--perhaps because in late August there weren't many guests. We did need to leave the window (patio door with a railing on the outside) open since there is no air conditioning and the ventilation of cool evening air was definitely needed. (A box fan was provided.) Since it was off-season, the restaurant was only open for dinner. In fact, quite a few of the Winter Park restaurants either close or offer limited service in the summer. We had dinner in Granby, so can't comment on the restaurant but it looked OK. The best part was the price--the lowest we could find in Winter Park. For an unusually large room that was adequate in every way, this was a great value.

Nice Getaway

We enjoyed our stay very much at the Vintage. All the staff was friendly. We liked the free cabriolet that takes you to the Winter Park resort that had shops, dining, and the Alpine Slide. I also liked having a kitchenette so we didn't have to eat out all the time. The hotel restaurant was only open on the weekend.

Great casual atmosphere

May was between seasons, so the staff was minimal and the occupancy was very light, but in a pleasantly informal and friendly manner, the staff all did their best to help with anything we needed. Physically, the place looked a little worn, but it was all kept pretty clean and everything actually worked. The fitness center had short hours, but they opened it early for me on request, and though I've never seen a treadmill that measures speed and distance in kilometers, it did work just fine. The room was attractive (spiral stair to a loft), but the mattresses were just beat, probably the only thing that really needed to be replaced. Heating and gas fireplace worked well, as did plumbing. I had to use a chair to get to the microwave way up above the countertop, and I'm 5'9". Great views of the mounatains.
