Nice ski in/out stay

Great location right above the Village Express quad lift and right beneath (easy walk up) the upper Base Village. Great, helpful staff. Normal, clean rooms (outdated, but who cares though, your skiing). Nice pool and jacuzzi. Daily breakfast and lunch were OK.

not a smart offseason stay

The pictures don't do it justice, it's much smaller. Parking, including handicapped spaces (illegal), are a block away, down an icy, snowy driveway. There's no "buttermilk pancakes" breakfast or "hot soup" lunch during the offseason, which is conveniently omitted from the hotel website. Snowmass Village may be great for skiing, but trying to find a decent breakfast or lunch place before ski season, was a challenge. The Mall, which is located "right behind the hotel", was mostly closed, except for less than a handful of places. I'm not sure I would even recommend this for during ski season.

Beat the city heat!

Definitely paid for the location, not the hotel itself. The hotel is very outdated, the hot tub was the same temperature as the pool, and the "free" breakfast is only on weekends. Otherwise, it did fit my needs (location), was clean and the staff friendly/helpful. I would stay again.

Great Place!

I enjoyed the stay at this hotel over the Memorial Day weekend when I was making a trip to Aspen. Aspen prices were way too expensive and I would not be making the trip if it was not for this hotel. It was right on my hotel budget limit. The place is very nice, clean, and the staff were pleasant and professional. The balconies with the views were awesome as well.

Hotel switched me

I signed up [...] for the Snowmass Mountain Chalet, but when I registered I was assigned to the adjacent Snowmass Inn, a less desirable property according to ratings and my visual inspection. Beware of this possible switch and insist on the property you signed up for. I was there for summer business in Aspen and did not spend much time in room, but it's very '70s vintage. All fixtures appear to be original. Carpet was relatively new but it extends into the bathroom, and the toilet had obviously overflowed a couple of times. The bathtub didn't drain. For the price, for what I needed, it was OK. But don't let them switch your reservation.

The Artisan at Stonebridge Inn offers very good dining and ambience at a very good price. Just down the hill from the Snowmass Inn.

An advice

I booked a room in Snowmass Mountain Chalet [...]. For some reason, at check-in they sent us to Snowmass Inn which is the next building and is run by Snowmass Mountain Chalet management. Snowmass Inn was horrible; the whole building appeared deserted; the room was extremely hot; fan was not working; the room did not have iron or hair dryer. After staying 15 minutes in that room, we ran back to the front desk and tell them that we can't stay in that room. They swiftly offered us a room in Snowmass Mountain Chalet and it was wayyyy better than what we had in Snowmass Inn. So if they talk you into moving to Snowmass Inn, say NO.The room in Snowmass Mountain Chalet was clean, well equipped, and quiet. No complaints what so ever. Free breakfast and nightly rate of under $100 made it an excellent overall deal.

Not what I Paid for

I booked the Snowmass Mountain Chalet and was given a room at the Snowmass Mountain INN. Same office, not the same rooms. The photos on the Chalet website are not the reality of what we stayed in. The staff was friendly and that's as good as it gets. I was overcharged for what I got as far as I'm concerned. I would not recommend it.

Summer in Snowmass

Snowmass/Aspen CO area is a beautiful area that is a must see and do in the summer. There are very few people around so at times you feel like the place is yours. The hotel is right next to the mall where you can rent bikes. We did a one-way rental to Aspen on the government trail, a little more challenging than we were prepapred for, but it worked out. Transit is free in the area (Roaring Forks Transit) and we were able to hang around Aspen and take the bus back to the Hotel. We stayed three nights, 2 nights we had peace and quiet, the 2nd night was a disappointment when a hip-hop gnagster band checked in. After bar time they came back and played music until 7am. In the Summer there is no night clerk which is why the music persisted. If it was not for that expereince the number of start would have been 4.

Great location for the slopes

Great location for slopes in snowmass. Free shuttle to Aspen was very helpful! But be sure you have cash, we found many places in mall(right next door to hotel) take only cash for food and coffee, but no big deal! Enjoyed our stay!

Skier's Heaven!

Me and my friend wanted to visit Aspen but the hotel prices there were unreasonable. So I found this hotel in Snowmass with much more reasonable price. 15 minutes drive on the beautiful mountains and we arrived at the hotel. I called them a week before my visit, asking 2 separate beds. Well, there was 1 king bed in the room they reserved for us and the hotel was packed. ( Labor Day weekend) The young guy at the reception was extremely helpful and kind and polite and they provided us another king size matress exactly like the matress on the king bed. They put it on the sleeper sofa and my friend was very happy and had a very good rest. I would recommend this hotel highly for the reasonable price, clean rooms with view and perfect location for skiers. Breakfast was included but can't say it was the best breakfast in the world. It was also a big commotion in a small room with all those people and waitresses running around. You would get very bored here if you don't like skiing. I actually though Snowmass was more beautiful than Aspen but again I visited there when there was no snow on the ground. Special thanks to the receptionist guy for being so helpful and polite and keeping his cool while I was upset for the bed. I would definitely go back!

Perfect for skiers. A few restaurants and fast food options at the mall located at back of the hotel. If you don't want to pay the extra for the closed garage, you have to walk and I don't know how easy it would be to walk with luggage in wintertime.
