Great hotel

I like the Westin - the location is great (walking distance to Larimer St., LoDo), rooms are nice sized, staff is very nice. They were doing some construction (which explains the $99/night deal), so the next time we go we'll check out the pool & rooftop bar!

Nice hotel, good location.

Thought the hotel was very nice. Great location and very clean. Didn't think the rooms were anything particularly special, though. Last night a bunch of punk kids came back at 230am and were yelling and making noise until 430. Couldn't sleep and had to call the front desk 3 times before they got kicked out. Expected some kind of compensation, but nothing received. Know it wasn't necessarily the hotels fault, but if you pay that much for a hotel, should expect a near perfect experience.

Great business trip facility

I found the Westin to be a terrific place. Friendly staff, clean, quiet and comfortable. The prices charged for the in-room candy and mini bar seemed a little high, but otherwise this place was just about perfect.

Less than I expected

I'm a $50 a night kinda guy as far as hotels go...so when I spent nearly $200 for our room at the Westin, I expected a bit more. Everything was an extra charge...from $4 cans of soda in the minibar (no vending machines, etc on premises), to the weak drinks at the bar (which closed at quite an early hour for a Saturday night), there was always something more to buy. "Guest Parking" as it was labeled, cost another $24 ($19 with our guest discount) as the Westin does not own their parking lot, and does not readily inform customers of this. There was an open (not cracked, but wide open, half empty) soda in our fridge upon arrival. No trash bags in the trash cans, which my wife inquired about, and was told "someone will be right up to fix that"...never happened. I hate to complain this much, it wasn't like the place was awful or anything, I'll just try somewhere else next time.

highs and lows

The concierge was great ! But...we stayed Thursday-Sunday. On Thursday and Friday (when I'd expect people to be out and about early), no cleaning until late afternoon. But on Saturday and Sunday morning, we got repeated housekeeping knocks from 9 a.m. until we vacated the room each day.

Westin Downtown Denver

The hotel just lacks a lot. The street-level lobby is VERY boring. The worst part of our stay was when my wife and daughter were trapped in an elevator between floors. When they called for help, the attendant just said, "I'll call a mechanic." There was no comforting comment -- just matter-of-fact.

Excellent location, value, & stay

Our daughter's college graduation prompted our visit to Denver. The hotel staff was courteous, professional. Room, bed was comfortable, clean. We opted to enjoy the breakfast buffet one morning and were disappointed that the watermelon tasted spoiled, even though the other fruit items were fresh. The potatoes were dry & flavorless. Oatmeal was bland. Unfortunate for a fine hotel.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

We chose The Palms for lunch one day, and although it was expensive (for a soup & salad lunch), it was enjoyable. For dinner, we chose Oceanaire, about 2 blocks on 14th & Arapahoe? Delicious food, courteous staff and pleasant atmosphere.
