A perfect stay. The staff greeting was cheerful and efficient. The room was spacious (actually far larger than we needed), the bed was incredibly comfortable, housekeeping and services were very responsive and helpful, and the stay exceeded our expectations in every way.

A Real Classic!

The Brown Palace is still the grande dame of the Denver hotel scene, complete with top-hatted doorman, champagne greeting at reception, and tea and cocktails all afternoon in the spectacular balconied lobby accompanied by live piano. Totally elegant! Service is impeccable, food is exceptional, and beds are dreamy.

A luxurious stay at a luxurious hotel

The Brown Palace is a venerable property in downtown Denver, with lots of history, an expansive, welcoming lobby and rich traditions. The staff was uniformly welcoming and helpful, the room was excellent, and our dinner in the Palace Arms was memorable. The location is excellent, being only a block off the 16th Street Mall, with all it has to offer. This is not the cheapest hotel/restaurant in Denver by a long shot, but we love it and go back every year.

There is a good breakfast place nearby on the 16th Street mall called the Corner Bakery...good stuff and a reasonable price.

Brown Palace a disappointment

This was not a 4 star experience. We arrived at 5pm and our room was not ready. The man checking us in had to leave the front desk to go check on the room himself while we waited. He said he upgraded us to a jr. suite, which turned out to be nothing more than a small sitting room right behind the elevator. The hotel may have been renovated but it didn't look like a dollar was spent on our room. The plaster was cracking the paint was peeling above the shower; it took a solid 5 minutes for the water in the shower to get hot - while I'm waiting I'm reading their card entitled "Conserve". I'd love to - but there is no hot water to be found, so I wait while we waste enough water for three showers. The air conditioner was on (cold and raining outside) and it would not turn off. I called the front desk and he said the tech would have to "override" the system in the room and it would take about 2 hours. Seriously? They managed to turn off the system in the "sitting room" but not in the bedroom. It blew all night long. Breakfast onsite the next morning was another 1 star experience. The food and the service were equally slow. I would not return.

Beautifully Historic

Great Hotel. The folks there could not be more accommodating. Michelle the concierge was exceptional. After the first day of her arranging a private limo tour, we all felt like family. The food was wonderful. Coming from San Francisco with all the choices we have, I was very impressed with the quality of the food served, and the executive chef deserves top marks as well. I had Alaskan Halibut with risotto. Being from the west coast and have had it prepared a multitude of ways , this one is one of the top 5. I walked to the Coors Field and watched the Giants and the Rockies baseball game. What an experience. Eric San Francisco

Awesome

Beautiful beautiful hotel!!! Pampered from the second we pulled up and greeted by the doorman. Car parked and luggage transported by hotel staff. Escorted to hotel room by staff who shared some of the hotel history along the way. The following morning, we decided to walk around downtown Denver and the hotel stored our luggage since we anticipated returning after check-out time.
