Great location and superior value in the heart of Denver

This wallet-friendly hotel is situated in Denver's historic Capitol Hill district, known by locals as the home of small music venues, new restaurants and interesting architecture. No skyscrapers here, but the State Capitol, Courthouse and urban residences make for an interesting, diverse neighborhood, complete with urban dining and entertainment minus the tourist-trap feel. Audiophiles love the location, too, which is just across the street from the Fillmore Auditorium and an easy walk to the Paramount Theatre, Ogden Theatre and Bluebird Theatre.

Highlights
  • Close enough to downtown Denver, yet nestled in a thriving urban neighborhood with local restaurants, dining and music
  • Activities for all ages and interests within walking distance, including historical sites
  • Minutes from the Colorado Convention Center and State Capital

Relatively good location, needs renovation

Many extras (shuttle to/from town, pool, bar/ resto) were fine. Rooms need renovation - old furniture, slightly smelly, definitely dingy. Fine for a short stay.

Does the job but nothing special

Neighborhood is not the best...lots of folks hanging around , several asking for money, etc. not comfortable walking around alone at night. Rooms are terribly gloomy and dated. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Good for staying in, then leaving

I stayed for one night in Denver after a weekend in the Rockies. I just needed a place to put my stuff and sleep one night. This hotel accomplishes that. The lobby is nice, but the rooms are normal (possibly slightly below average). About 20 min walking distance to US Mint, 16th St Mall.

Solid for the money

This hotel was easy to get to and clean. It could absolutely use some updating, but served it's purpose as a place to sleep.

Average hotel with bad customer service

Location is great with good food and more within walking distance (though it's kind of sketchy at night) Our rooms were clean enough, and the price was good. My only complaint would be the terrible staff. It took 3 days and 3 calls to get our AC fixed and they "couldn't find" an important package I had overnighted telling me that "FedEx never came" when I asked them to check for myself, I found the box in literally 2 seconds. When one of our party lost his key, the staff member told him "it's not that hard to not lose" all in all they were rude.

Decent hotel

It was perfectly comfortable, just no extras. There were a few small issues, like the lack of outlets and the outlets coming off the walls, and the blow dryer didn't work, but nothing important. The room was clean. The Wi-Fi worked great, and the shuttle service was very helpful.

Desperately Seeking Renovation

Location is in a fun, eclectic neighborhood, and the hotel offers free shuttle service to and from anywhere within three miles. NO HOT WATER THE DAY OF CHECK-OUT, and then the cherry on top was that they claimed I owed an additional $30 in movie rentals when I hadn't even turned the tv on once. Hotel's remodel must have been impressive--AROUND 1972!!!!!
