Hilton Garden Inn DTC January 2011

This was a very comfortable hotel in a convenient location for us. Though we had planned to spend most of our time outside the hotel, the lobby/lounge area proved to be a comfortable area in which to pass several hours catching up with local friends. Loved the facilities, the service and the wi-fi. Would have loved a hot tub on-site.

Very quick check in process- clean large & comfortable room. Liked the 2 TVs in room as well as microwave & mini fridge. Had to call the front desk for more towels and they were quickly brought to my room. The only thing I didn't like was a room service tray left in the hallway for an extended time from one of the other guests room.

home away from home

I just returned from a 5 day business trip to Denver where I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn-Tech Center. I was thrilled to see a warm, clean indoor pool which is essential for me to stay healthy throughout my business trips and keeping the pool open late ( 11pm) was also a benefit. My room was equipped with plenty of outlets including one on the desk lamp ( yay, no reaching behind the bed!) and the fridge/microwave combo was also helpful for keeping healthy snacking close at hand. The dial-a-bed mattress didn't work but other than that, I've got no complaints. A great week's stay.

great location

We attended a Halloween party at the Marriott which was right across the street. All of the hotels in the Denver Tech Center are close together so if the one where your convention/event is being held is sold out try another one in the area.

Pleasant staff, clean

Staff was pleasant. Facilities were clean. Breakfast was weird--the offerings were no different than a basic continental breakfast but you paid for items a la carte. Consequently, one of the employees stalked me around the breakfast island, noting that I decided on 1 cranberry juice, 1 bagel, and 1 package of cream cheese. I didn't dare go back to top off my juice for fear that she would bring a second bill.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

For guests from cities that are shopping deserts, e.g., Albuquerque, the Cherry Creek area has a mall that has everything that a conspicuous consumer would want.
