Memorable family experience
Such friendly and helpful staff. They would search out anything we asked, and went out of their way to help at every step. Convenient to everything. Couldn't ask for more! Just wish they had more eating options in the hotel or right next to it and that the WiFi didn't cost to use.

RENOVATIONS
I arrived late at night and had hoped for a good nights sleep.Well the maids woke me at 7.45 and then the hammers and drills started at 8.00.So all in all I was very tired and felt the hotel should have made it clear that renovations were taking place

Work in progress
Grand Hyatt was in the process of being renovated, so there was the usual challenges with a hotel in progress. Our room was newly renovated and it was fantastic. Clean, and very nicely decorated. The only knock against the room and amenities was the lack of a coffee maker. This wouldn't be a problem if there was an onsite coffee shop, but the Starbucks was outside and near valet parking.

Great stay!
We were stuck in Denver due to the recent blizzard. The hotel staff was wonderful in making sure that they could accommodate us an additional night. They were very friendly and responsive to needs. They are updating and renovating the hotel, but we never heard a sound from it. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to everyone. It is a few blocks from 16th street where there are many bars and restaurants. You can't beat the friendly staff!

Updated room
On this stay we were in one of the recently renovated rooms. It has great touches. Especially liked the motion detected night light in the bathroom at foot level. Just enough not to blind you when finding your way in a dark hotel room. The hotel was great and the staff very pleasant.

Not the best
My boyfriend and I read the reviews about this hotel and thought we would give it a shot since it had such great ratings and proximity to the 16th st mall. Needless to say, the hotel was a disappointment and we would not recommend anyone stay here. We had rented a car and pulled up into the valet and was told it was 30 dollars for the night. We were told by friends it was a rip off and so we pulled right out and parked 40 feet away in a public parking lot for 6 dollars for the whole night. Checking in We had booked a king sized room through our agent and arrived to find that their reservation for us was a standard double room the receptionist also mentioned that they did not have any king sized rooms but we were welcome to call in the morning to see if another room opened up. We decided to take the double standard room and go from there. I admit that I am a clean freak and will sanitize a hotel before we get settled in and I am so glad that I did! We walked into the bathroom and there was a dirty used towel on the countertop, dried urine on the toilet seat and dead bugs in the light!!! Since I had run out of sanitizing wipes cleaning the room, we were forced to stay out of fear of what the other rooms would look like. The next morning at 830am we had a great wake up call from the construction guys sawing and hammering away! Not what I wanted on my relaxing vacation!! I went to the check in desk to ask them what time they anticipated the construction to be over and the receptionist simply said "well we are under construction and your agent should have told you that. The construction usually ends around 630-7pm. If its still going on by then let us know perhaps we can change your room if it REALLY bothers you." Luckily we went out to explore the area that day but I was so disappointed in how the receptionist answered my question! The following morning the hammering started at a reasonable 930am. My boyfriend and I went out for the day and found the room only had the beds made and nothing else was even touched! All in all, the hotel had a decent location to the 16th street mall, lots of parking around the area, but dirty room and you should check with the hotel if they are doing construction during the time that you go!

Hotel Staff Inept
Arriving late, I called the hotel at about 6PM to let them know that I would be arriving late and that I wanted to ensure that the KING bed would be saved/available upon arrival........which I was assured that this was "no problem". Upon arriving late (~10PM) and tired, the check in young lady advised that they had no king rooms available. Further, she advised that your reservation system was only a request, and not an actual guarantee that the room I paid for and reserved would be available. After some hassle, I requested a manager and a young man (Matt) showed up and explained that he had "moved things around" and that they would be able to take care of me after all. Very frustrating and poor follow thru on the hotels part and a poor reflection on your company. The reservation was made and confirmed......had I not argued with them they would have shoved us off into a room with twin beds!!! I am not happy with the way this was handled this at alll!!!!!!
