No frills, but not a family place

Just passing thru town and wanted to be as close to downtown without having to drop two hundred for a room. I read the reviews and was expecting the worse. Location wise, I think I got what I was expecting and paid for. I will say that, stripping the location factor away from this place, you are not left with very much. Some annoying 'soliciting' goes on as little as a block away. Football game taking place that week, so the trashiest people were staying there too. So it wasnt quiet. Some 'out of control' guests would bang on my door everytime they would go by the room and, on top of freaking out my wife and kids, it also got pretty old pretty fast. B-fast was basic continental stuff, except for not a very good one, but that didn't bother me. It has a new managment that was very pleasant and it is trying hard to improve the property. I applaude them for what has been accomplished so far, but just urge them to keep on trying just a bit harder. Unfortunately, I think their own low rates attract less than desirable guests and the neighborhood works against them to some degree. I would stay there again, but only if not with my family coming along

Hot summer days

I was disappointed with this hotel. It was located on a very busy street which from the ratings one could not tell. On weekends there is a very noisy club behind the hotel which is loud and can be disturbing until the early morning. During the week the noise subsides by midnight.

check your receipt

[...] did not transfer my reservation to the hotel, so I had to pay for the room again [...]Hotel added a $1.50 charge per night for safe usage. I didn't use the safe. They said they add it standard. I asked to have it removed but the guy said only the manager can remove. So now I have to fight for that back too. Check your receipt!

There is homeless people in the area but police presents and a lot of people walking late at night make it very safe.
