Live Concert @TheOgdenTheatre

Staff was friendly, asked if we wanted a view & gave us a view of an alley & wendy's instead of downtown street. Hotel was under repairs. Old. Did the job. (sleep, shower)

Good for the price.

It was an okay room for the price. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The TV didn't work all that well and if you stay there, I'd recommend sleeping on the side of the building away from the bar next door. The music boomed all the way 'til closing time. I'd stay there again under the same "just need a place to crash & move on" circumstances.

Could do a lot better

I stayed at the Econolodge Downtown in Denver for 4 nights. The first night the power went out. There was a strip of metal that holds the carpet down where it joins with the linoleum tile in front of the in front of the sink. It had come loose and there was a very sharp point of metal sticking up. I saw it before I stepped on it, so I was not injured. The first night the power went out. When I went out the second morning, I told the desk clerk about the power and the sharp metal hazard. I returned after 12 hours and the power was still out and the metal hazard had not been fixed. The desk clerk gave me the key to another room, 100 feet away, and after 7 trips I had all my belongings moved. He seemed to think he was doing me a favor when he said he wouldn’t charge me extra for the room with 2 beds (I was by myself). The new room had the chain lock that goes between the door frame and the door ripped away, with a large chunk of wood missing. It did not give me a feeling that I was secure. I should also note that when I got to my room the first night and the second night, my key-card would not open the door. I had to go back to the desk clerk and get him to fix the card. Both times I said “thanks” and he said “No problem.” I’m sure it was no problem for him, since he wasn’t the one who had to go up and down the 4 stories (on the elevator) in 93 degree heat. He didn’t think to say, “Sorry for the inconvenience,” only “No problem.” The room had not been cleaned during my third day. Clean towels had not been delivered.

It is what it is

Not a bad hotel- very busy for Pridefest- the staff was as accomodating as they could be. Parking is basically non- existent, but they were willing to find parking and provide passes for neighboring businesses' lots. I don't know what their problem is with the satellite tv company is, but they only had 4 channels, 3 with sound. It is functional and friendly, definitely not recommended for families. It is Colfax, after all.

Nice for short Business

It was nice, clean, and quite. Unfortunately it did not have ESPN to watch sports. The area was full of bars (some not very family friendly) but no problems whatsoever.

Denver Econolodge

I was at a meeting in Denver. The motel is clean, and had friendly help. The price was great in contrast to the major downtown hotels that jack up the prices for meetings (bad value even with luxury and being close to the convention center). There was a continental breakfast. The neighborhood was marginal but seemed safe. I was able to walk or take a bus to the convention center. I would recommend it.

Wonderful

Went to the Filmore Auditorium for a concert. Was only a block away from the hotel. A perfect place for a perfect night. Being so close to the venue provided much comfort without having to worry about travel across town or getting lost. The hotel itself was simple but wonderful that way. For downtown Denver the view wasn't the greatest, but as far as comfort, it was much better than any fancy hotel for probably triple the price.

Filmore Auditorium, they have great shows in a small setting, and only a block away from the hotel. Plus a few very nice eateries within a minute walk.

Nice, clean and comfortable.

The room was small, but big enough for one person. It is located next door to a nightclub. Could hear the music if on the east side of hotel. Not real loud but could hear it. The television selections were awful. Only two local stations offered.

OK

I was satisfied with the hotel. Clean, friendly service. Some street noise, but it was blocked out by the whoosh of the heater/air conditioner. About location: it was abut a mile walk to the Convention Center. However, the neighborhood could be an issue for some. I walked in and out from downtown Denver. On a nearby corner was the Church of the Immaculate Conception, and on the next was a group of ladies with whom conception would probably not be immaculate. If I were a woman, I would want to be accompanied if I had to walk on this part of Colfax avenue. Quite nearby are respectable middle class neighborhoods, however.
