Don't bother!
This hotel is like a cheap and tacky version of what (I would imagine) a stay at the playboy mansion would be like - only cheesier. The rooms are circa 1970 with a thinly veiled coat of paint and fake fur on the bed to "update" the look. The bathroom was pink (yes pink) tile and old school vanity. The bathtub faucet leaked all night (so much for being "green") and The front desk person was snotty and unhelpful. Everything about the place is wrong - just wrong.

Hugley Disappointed!!!!!
I have never had to written a bad review but I thought that I needed to and wanted to make sure that anyone that is considering staying at this hotel would know what they were getting into. When I booked our hotel stay, I wanted a special getaway/retreat for my partner and I to unwind. We both as busy people which makes it very hard to get away. I was very excited for our weekend but was very disappointed when we arrived to the hotel. The photos on their website were very misleading. The photos of the rooms looked nice on their website but in reality they were not very nice. In the photos it this hotel appears to be a nice modern hotel, but in reality lots of cheap furniture, poor design, dirty and smelly. The hotel hallways and our room did not smell very good at all. It actually smelled like an old gym locker room. The carpets in the hallway, etc looked like it had not been vaccumed since the hotel was opened. When we took the elevator to get to our room, I thought that we may of mistakenly taken the frieght elevator as it was dirty, small and poorly lit. It was very hard for us to fit our bags, my partner and I and our dog in the elevator. But it was the only elevator in the hotel. The hotel was very expensive. We payed over $300.00 for one night during the off season in Aspen. For the price we payed we could of stayed at one of the exclusive hotels in Aspen. I was so disappointed with the hotel that I could not even enjoy myself.

$400 per night camping
2Full size beds smashed into a low ceiling room. don't make the mistake I made. 4 nights of trying to have 2 people sleep in a full size bed. never mentions that in the ads for this great locations I live in Aspen and had to stay here while my apt was under constructions. Same rates as the other great hotels but old style accomodations.

Perfect Location
The Sky Hotel has a great lobby, bar, pool and views of the mountains. It is hip and trendy adn the staff are very friendly. Love the L'Occtaine toiletry amenities! I was there for a quick overnight business trip, but had I been there longer I would have had to change my room. The toilet flusher was broken, the desk phone didn't work and the hari dryer blew out. While they were nice about it, they didn't offer to comp my parking for the inconvenience (extra $15/day - but worth it). It would have been a nice gesture, but not necessary. I would stay again at the off-season discounted rate, but likely will not stay at full rate unless assured that the rooms were in better condition.

In Aspen, everything is close to most lodging and this location is no exception. Great restaurants, the mountain is right out the door adn City Market is a block away.

They need to invest $'s in a make over.
The place needed a lot of work. At best it's a 2 star hotel. If your young, and like to party, and you get a GREAT DEAL on a room, then this is your place. I do have to say that the staff was very nice. Their web page made it look like a fine resort, but on person, I would never stay there again.

Small, but attractive
The Sky was okay, the room was very small. Good location - walking distance to town. Needed to check out early due to bad winter weather approaching & was NOT refunded the last 2 nights!! very disappointing!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic mini-vacation
My husband and I had a fantastic mini-vacation at this hotel in Aspen. We snuck away for a couple days and were extremely pleased with our experience here. The hospitality and service were FANTASTIC, the pool is the perfect little oasis - very private and relaxing, the food (and I had many different things) was EXCELLENT, the waitresses were extremely on top of it, very helpful, and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable. My only complaint is that a little more updating of this building would be preferable with new tile in the bathrooms, an outdoor facelift, etc., but that is just me being picky. The rooms were very stylishly decorated, the soaps were great, the animal print robes very cozy, and the bed and pillows were VERY comfortable. We would definitely stay at the Sky Hotel again on our next visit to Aspen. Also, the location is fantastic.

fun for people without kids
We had a great time, the pool is defnitely a scene--there were people with kids there, I was just glad mine were not. The staff could not be friendlier or more accomodating. Great pool, bar scene and great menu, both food and beverage. The price was great and the hotel was extremely convenient to everything to do in Aspen. The rooms are tiny though--we didn't spend much time in ours except sleeping, but not much room for hanging out in room. If you want a luxury room/bathroom, this would probably not be your best bet, but if you want a fun hotel experience, this is a great option.
