Hotel Erwin

The restaurant was excellent. Park right across the street for $20. Room was not very clean. Good location in a funky area. Room was quiet . The seals in the windows were broken so no view outside. Average hotel.

For a special trip, we booked this hotel. It was a great place - clean, comfortable, modern, with a convenient location and a nice balcony view of the ocean. Front desk and cleaning staff were professional and always willing to help. I was impressed that we could get our room serviced as late as 5 pm. Roof top bar had nice drinks, good music, and friendly staff. Reviews said parking was $7 but I couldn't find that lot at first. When I did, it was $8-15/day depending on when you went. That place is behind the hotel down the alley in the direction of the beach. Paid $20/day at a lot next door until I figured it out.

The hotel is old and the bedding has not been updated. Above my room it was very noisy and when I called the front desk to complain they said they would investigate it and get back to me, they never did. The front desk seemed to always be busy and I always put on hold for a very long time both times I called. None of the staff was overly friendly or nice. The valet guy didn't even open the door for me or help me load my suitcases in my car I was happy to drive off that place!

Staff was friendly, but things were a little disorganized, i.e. took a really long time to check in . . . Reserved "Partial Ocean View" and I think the room barely qualified -- if you went out on the patio and turned your head, you could see ocean. Otherwise, you were looking into an alley and dismal apartments across the way. Great roof deck. Room service took long time, 45 min-1 hour. Great location, cute renovation, fun vibe.

I booked this hotel because of the 3.5 star rating on Hotwire and expected a nice room with a great view. Unfortunately the disappointment started upon arrival. After checking into my room, I looked out the window and saw the view of the local alley-way instead of the beachfront as was advertised. I immediately contacted the front desk to change rooms and was first told by the clerk that another room was available but somehow after checking with her manager, I was told that room was no longer available.Strange! Instead I was offered free breakfast at their tiny restaurant and free valet parking (which saved me $30 dollars a day). The hotel is fairly old and has been updated to the modern look that you see in the pictures. The room and bathroom is small and furniture can be described as Target chic. Definitely not worth the price I paid. Although the room was close to the beach, a nicer place even a bit father away would have been a 100x better. This place may be a step up for those who generally stay at a cheap motel, but its definitely not 3.5 stars. I would rate it a 1.5-2 stars. Its not family friendly and you are asked to have a reservation if wanting to eat at their roof-top restaurant.

Rooms were clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Bar was nice with very friendly bartenders and roof top lounge has an excellent view. Lounge requires reservations which seems unpleasant but at busy times it's better not to have a huge crowd waiting to be seated. Decor rather boring and an obvious attempt to be trendy does not come off.

Very close to the beach and restaurants. We could walk everywhere. The staff was awesome. The rooftop bar was too pricey but the view at sunset was amazing.

We arrived tired and wanting to relax. The room was very comfortable and the view was great. This hotel is located mere steps from the beach and a million shops, artisans, restautrants, and street performers.
