serves it's purpose well
We went to Adventure Mountain about 12 miles away and spent all day sledding. Exhausted this was perfect to kick your shoes off. This inn is perfect for a low key overnight stay. Has excellent weekend rates. I saw many of the other places that I researched literally on the same small block that looked of the same quality but charged about 100 more a night!!!! Pros: nice staff literally walk across the street to Heavenly and Marriot ski resorts and Harveys and Harras Casinos. Continental breakfast which was donuts and coffee ( gone in the first 4 minutes.) in room microwave and mini refrigerator and coffee. CONS: small rooms, basic old beds and comforters without covers. For $60 on Saturday and a one night stay its perfect.

great location but the beds were like granite!
The location couldn't be better. It's literally across the street from Heavenly Village and walking distance to most of South Lake Tahoe. The room had a big fridge, a microwave, coffee maker and a hair dryer. Really liked all the amenities. The free continental breakfast was just watered down OJ and a sad assortment of donuts. The worst feature were the beds. HARD AS ROCKS! I don't know if it was just our room or what but it was awful. I wouldn't stay there again. By the time we left we were all a cranky mess from lack of sleep!

Heavenly Ski Resort Access
Blue Lake Inn is great lodging for skiing. Amenities are limited but this property is excellent for a short ski trip. Clean and conveniently located within walking distance to the Heavenly lifts and local restaurants. Have stayed here 5 times over the years.

Good for the price.....
Hotel crew is very friendly. The best part is the location, just one block away from Heavenly!!. Room has average features, nothing special, room is clean. I will recommend this place to any person who wants to save money and have fun.!!!

Better than anticipated
Was not sure what to expect for this price. The room had a mini frig, microwave, and a bathtub. None of these were in the listing. Along with the pool and private beach access, as well as complimentary breakfast. More than made up for the construction noise from across the street.

Average motel stay for the money
It was a typical motel stay....loud at night, small room. Larger bathroom/vanity area. The pool was the nicest part of the stay and the location to shopping, casinos and the lake.

The worst hotel stay I have ever had in my life!!!
When we got there we smelled a strong aroma of human urine. To my disbelief I felt my shoes squeaking against the carpet not because it was clean but because it was wet. Wet from what? I don't know. The first thing thing is turn the AC on. One hour later I noticed the AC wasn't cooling. When I told staff they complained about how they have been putting freon into this unit all week and brought me a square shaped fan. When I went to open my window to get some air I found that there was no screen on the window. At that point I asked for another room and I was told there was no vacancy. I would have rather been turned down then to have been rented this awful room...If there was a zero rating the Blu Lake Inn would get it. PS There is no private beach entrance. They just tell you that to get your business.

Son's 21st
this trip was for my son's 21st birthday. the blue lake was nice, location was 5-10 minute walk to stateline, passes to the private beach a bonus.
