Enjoyed our stay
Clean hotel with very friendly staff at a very good location. My children loved the stay, specially the Cub House. The location is great---next to the main bus station and the gondola. My little daghter lost her mitten, and the staff took extra care to find that out in lost-and-found.

Great location!
The Marriot Timber Lodge was walking distance from the casinos, a nice variety of restaurants, shops and grocery store. Most importantly, the gondola, which takes you to all the lifts, was right outside the lobby door! We upgraded our room and it ended up being very well worth it. It was a large suite with a beautiful kitchen and brand new appliances. LOVE having a washer and dryer in the room! Came in very handy during a ski trip! Very, very accommodating hotel and we will be staying there again during our next visit!

One bedroom apartment a bit small. No much space for ski equipment. But, overall experience is good.

Never Again
Staff at check in was great. Facility looked nice, but when it came time to sleep we discovered the walls and doors might as well be made of cardboard, the air conditioner / heater blows air directly onto the bed which was very uncomfortable (too hot, too cold, dry throat, etc.) Bed was not very comfortable, and bathroom has no fan. So the sad truth is this place with a million dollar location was built on the cheap, and for one of the cheapest rooms at $260 plus, we were rewarded with feeling like zombies the next day due to sleep deprivation... A last shout out to all the parents who let their kids run up and down the halls screaming at 1 am, you rock! Come on Marriott, you can do better.

Not as good as the first time.
The check in started out quite rough. Our room wasn't ready at check in and we had to wait for 45 minutes. Normally I wouldn't mind but we had a group of six that had traveled all day to get there. I think the check in at 4 and the check out at 10 is kind of lame. 3 and 11 makes so much for sense for what you're asking people to pay. There were multiple people waiting and some very vocal about their complaints. The staff definitely wasn't rude, but they obviously didn't care people were upset. Management was no where to be seen, which is also poor customer service on a Saturday at check in time. The people in valet looked frazzled, we had no assistance with our bags or even given a cart so we could load our own things. I expected me to be assisted, not necessarily waited on - this hotel is def self service. We stayed here once before so we had recommended it and our guests weren't impressed with the service nor amenities. The suite was nice, definitely a good amount of space..the floor was dirty in the kitchen and with a toddler I thought it was gross...but most might not care. Overall, I would not stay here again.

Great Location...if it's snowing
This hotel is in the perfect location for both easy access to Heavenly, as well as easy access to food, shopping, and the casinos. The gondola is practically in the lobby. Too bad there was basically no snow during our stay (late February), so we didn't bother going up the mountain. Had snow conditions been good, this would be the best location in South Lake Tahoe. However, we were there for our anniversary, so great food, a show, and some gambling made up for it. The only down side was our room was WAY at the back of the hotel, and only 1 elevator bank at the front, made it a hike back and forth to the room.

Needs some extras!
The room was nice but not much more than a basic hotel room. I loved the pool and hot tubs outside. Not many restaurant selections at the hotel although Fire and ice the only restaurant i saw at the hotel looked awesome Mongolian style cooking. didn't eat there though. My view was awful it was a view of the entrance where people load and unload. As beautiful as Tahoe is I must have had one of the ugliest views. Staff was great and friendly. Valet guys were awesome but valet parking is expensive at $26.00 a night for hotel guest. Probably won't stay again.
