Blocks from Lake Tahoe, surrounded by pines, near golf, gaming and more
The cozy Ambassador Motor Lodge is nestled in a pine and poplar forest just blocks away from Lake Tahoe. Guests visit for the golf, the gambling and, of course, the snow sports. There is more to do within one mile of this motel than there is time to do on a one-week vacation, including skiing and snowboarding, golf, kayaking and fishing and gambling.

Just what I expected
My experience was pretty good. I was looking for some basic lodging near the casinos - and that's exactly what I got. The room was pretty basic - ancient CRT TV, decent size bath-tub, and the hot water worked well. The rooms aren't very sound-proof, but I generally sleep with ear-plugs, so that wasn't an issue for me. They have free wifi - but the signal strength in my room was so bad that it was faster to use 3G. Not too many frills here - but the location is great, service is friendly.

decent for the price, smelled like smoke, outdated
outdated, smelled like smoke even though it was a nonsmoking room. but for the relatively low price i guess thats what you should expect.

AWOL snow event gateway
The hotel was pretty nearby to the AWOL snow festival event at mont bleu. It has a spacious parking lot but a horrible wifi connectivity. In-room entertainment was too ordinary. The room charges are very low. Overall it is not bad for one night stopover for any event.

You get what you pay for, don't expect anything special.
I booked knowing this was a motor lodge so I did not expect much. I was traveling alone and figured I could save a penny. Location was good, staff was friendly. Single queen bed sucked big time- I cannot stress this one enough / Managment must upgrade the mattresses. Toilet got plugged for no apparent reason and would not flush, called the front desk they put a plunger in my hand. Rowdy folks staying on both sides of my room, made for annoying nights. All in all room was clean and if you don't plan on staying in the room much then go for it.

snow weekend
We came up for the night to play in the snow, We loved the location, two min. walk to stateline, havenly shops and resturants. Super friendly staff, was a quick trip but the room was good size, we have two boys. Clean and we will stay here again. You can't beat the price for the location.

There's a great Pizza Hut just back up the main sreet. It's a great place to take your kids. good and not a lot of money. and the guys will love that it also a sports bar, lots of TVs

OK value for the money
Price was cheap, so was the room. You get what you pay for. Not that clean, bed not comfortable. Gave me an uncomfortable feeling.

Great Hotel for the Price
I was very skeptical and hesitant about staying in a motel in this area (close to state line). Some seem so shady and low quality, I've stayed in two different motels in the area and was very disappointed. Since I was trying to save a little bit of money I decided to make my first gamble and stay here at the Ambassador. But to our surprise the Ambassador was very pleasant and very clean. I have to admit the room we stayed in was just newly renovated and some of the bathroom fixtures were obviously new. We stayed the weekend of 4th of July and our motel was very quiet considering while walking to the casinos other motels along the way had lots of 'partiers' and very loud. I thought for the cost and location it was a nice surprise. The only down fall was no air conditioning. My fiancée and I will definitely stay here again.
